Hey,

what I want to know is, if you play outside isolation, how will the computer choose the star player? Is it by game shape or the skills grading?

Thanks,

If you play outside isolation, the computer will choose your best outside shooter (the best outside shooter has a mixture of jump shot, jump range, and driving). The other four players on the court will try to find the best shooter in open space, therefore giving him the most shots. The downside of this is that even if you have a good inside player that is just shooting amazing, he will not get to shoot as much since only your outside player is shooting. Also, in my opinion, you lose offensive flow, though I cannot say that is a proven fact.

Hope this helps and gives you an idea of how it works:)

Actually it's not exactly like that. Computer will try to find the greatest mismatch and exploit it to your advantage. Example:

1. You have SG with great shooting going against opponent's SG with great OD
2. You have SF with good shooting going against opponent's SF with awful OD

Computer will most of the times choose option nr.2.

If your best mismatch player has better driving than shooting, he will make more layups.

But Outside ISO is not all about that - it's mostly a Base offense with mismatches thrown in. You also need better offensive flow for Outside ISO than, for example, Run and Gun. Oh, and you won't shoot much 3s with Outside ISO. You will get much more 3s with Inside ISO. Don't ask me though why.

My bad, I missed that when I read about it and don't use isolation too often. Thanks for clearing that up.

No problem. I was extensively using Outside ISO last season and was quite disappointed in it. Patient is more Outside ISO than Outside ISO itself.
