Hi.. Could anyone suggest a good defence against Push The Ball? I have tried all sorts of combinations but have always lost - even against teams considerably weaker than mine.

Thanks

Mangocango is correct. Some people forget that man to man is actually the best defence. Even more people forgetwhat is the best offence, everyone thinks it is look inside, or maybe motion, but actually (according the the BBs who wrote the code) Base Offence is actually the best - it just doesn't emphasise your team's strengths.

any offense other than base offense is by design weaker than base offense

BB-Charles said that and it seems fairly clear to me.

Obviously if all your guards had mediocre JS while all your forwards had prodigious IS you wouldn't be running base.

base offense just doesnt seem that great unless if your a balanced team with an offensive capable outside/inside SF.

but then even when your a balanced team, your going to run PTB against "weaker teams" or play to the other team's weakness to take advantage of your team versatility.

against much better team or teams with a few holes defensively, your going to run patient rather than base offense.

Play on your team's strenghts and on your opponent's weaknesses, predictable coaches will lose the fight unless they have a perfectly balanced roster (or are much better than you).

Then all you need is to understand how the tactics work.
