I have plans to change turn this team around into a power house. You might remember my thread about managing game shape, and since then i've been successful at doing that. Below are my goals this year, and you can tell me if these goals are attainable or are any good at all.

1.Increase arena size-I'm planning on increasing my arena to 10000 seats by the end of the season this year, it may happend much earlier. Currently i have a little over 6000 seats, and after this weeks arena explansion, i'll have over 7000 seats. Every two weeks after a league home game, i'm going to build 400-500 seats, depending on how many fans come to my arena. Later this season I should be making $100,000 per game, that is if my team is winning a lot of games. Right now i make $82,000 a game, not nearly enough, pocket change.

2.Raise ticket prices-Almost every month if we have a very good record, i'm going to raise ticket prices a few dollars each month. For bleachers though, i don't want to charge anything more than $15-$20 dollars. And i want to earn more weekly revenue.

3.Build my teams OD-Wheather its through buying players or individual training, I want to have at least profient outside defenders or greater for my starters, and no less than strong outside defenders for my backups. I've known that training OD is very slow, but i'm patient, and as people have told me, defense wins championships. Getting blown out in any game by more than 10 points, is not an option for my team.

4.Win my league and move up to division V-Being in division IV for more than 3 seasons is unnaceptable, my goal is to win my division.

So, what do you think of my plans this year? Do you think they're attainable, and do you think they're good? Thanks for any advice you may have.

Not many people would pay $15 for a bleacher seat to see a div 5 team.

Hello! It is nice to see someone with goals as clearly set as you, I hope you stay organized like this and improve. If you are to achieve this goals you will have to improve your roster. I do not believe you should raise ticket prices every month, in any case not more than 1$ per month..
I would set you ticket prices to something like this: 10$, 39$, 130-140$ and 1000$.
A good way to earn a little more from marketing is to have more domestic players or maybe even homegrown..I did that and my revenue from marketing increased for about 60% ( but keep in mind I bought two great Slovenian players with high salaries). As far as your arena goes, I do not believe you require a larger arena for this league, you have quite a large arena for your division. You could earn easily around 110-125k per match. I would invest that money in some good young players.

Well all in all, this is only my opinion, but I believe you will have a lot of success since you obviously have a clear vision. I wish you the best of luck!

1. Great plan. Build for financial structure.

2. I would look at the Attendance Helper on the offsite. It is a good tool and can help you maximize your arena. Having 100,000 seats and bringing in only 7000 and making less money cause your prices are too high is bad business.

3. Best idea. OD on young trainees doesn't train that slow. But it is definitely worth it. I'm winning my league with a roster 2/3 the cost of my opponent. 53k to 77k. That is with 13 players for me to his 11 and 2 injured (which is why I like to have 12 or 13 personally). Defense is cheap but powerful, having a couple of guys that can challenge shots a few guys that can control the boards is a solid recipe for success.

4. I think you might move up for DV to DIV? I think with your arena right now and the plans you have for it that this is a very attainable goal. I'd make my first goal to win my conference if I were you though, cause conference winners get first bid at bot promotions... which is a great back up plan in case you catch the injury bug in the playoffs or some team in 4th place buys a couple of monsters as the playoffs start.

Additionally, do not build anymore Luxury boxes. You have far too many already for DV or DIV really.

Thanks all.

To Global-I'll raise those ticket prices to that level later in the year, most likely the 2nd or 3rd week of season 17.

To Upspoon-Yeah, i know what you mean about OD being cheap, a short while ago maybe a week or so ago, I bought a good defender who is a gaurd. I'm definitely planning on making $100,000 per home game this year, thanks for the tips, as i am getting more serious about this game.

Second Team:
Canada Purple Haze BC
Careful about ticket prices
fans are funny
I promoted this season
still won my division and am in the finals in first season in DIII Canada
raised ticket price $1 in cheapest seats midseason and attendance suffered there until playoffs.
Seats in that area had previously sold out

The minimum cost of expanding to 10,000 seats from 7,000 is 600k (bleacher seats 200*3000 = 600,000) If you decide to add lower tier and courtside seats that cost will rise. I don't think it is realistic to expect to add this amount in one season. If I were you I'd build to 1000 lower tier and 200 courtside first. As you have extra cash after that you can build bleachers.

2.Raise ticket prices-Almost every month if we have a very good record, i'm going to raise ticket prices a few dollars each month. For bleachers though, i don't want to charge anything more than $15-$20 dollars. And i want to earn more weekly revenue.

In my limited experience, D5 attendance profits cap around 110k. The advantage of having a big arena is that it allows you to optimize ticket prices to create the greatest profit. For instance, with 10 luxury boxes you could sell out at $650 for a profit of $6500 each game. If you raise that price to $1000, you would likely sell only 4 for a profit of $4000. The same argument works for bleacher seats. Raising your prices to $15 in D5 will take you away from the optimal price and actually decrease your profits.

3.Build my teams OD-Wheather its through buying players or individual training, I want to have at least profient outside defenders or greater for my starters, and no less than strong outside defenders for my backups. Great idea. If you're going to train guards, why do you have young bigs? Get rid of them and buy some post players. The TL prices are really cheap for PF and C right now. Go buy some bigs soon before offseason processing begins and the prices skyrocket. As an example, I purchased this player well below market value yesterday. (10952396)

Oh yeah i know it was a few times a year, but in season 17 like i said in another thread, i'll be training gaurds. And like someone advised me about small forwards, when i train a small forward, i'll put him as a shooting gaurd. I was training centers/power forwards in season 16.

But as of now, not all of my players are young, most yes, but i do have one thats at least 30 now that i recently bought because of his jump shot, he'll come off my bench. I'm keeping my staff pretty cheap this season, as i have a level 4 trainer that's $13,000. My main goals this year, is to win the make huge profits from my arena, win the big 8, win my division and move up to division 4.

I'm not going to let my trainer get above $17,000, and i will buy one that's $11-$12,000. Right now, i'm not in position financially to compete with other teams, for expensive players, i know though i can probably get some older players that are cheap, under $15,000, i'm just trying to prepare my team for the upcoming season, i knew it was a few times a year that i could change ticket prices, just didn't know it was only 3.
