Hi All, have just joined the game last week, enjoying it atm. Won 2 x relegation games even though I haven't much idea of what's going on. Fired alot of duds and picked up a couple of blokes also without a great understanding of things.

I have tried to search the FAQ and guides but cannot find answers to a few things I was wondering -

Such as
Training; I have no idea how this works, can someone please explain how you should train your squad?

Draft; I think I have a good handle on draft and scouting, how do I know what # I am likely to be picking at in the draft? (Which I think is the 25th?)

Scrimmages; is there only one scrimmage allowable per week? Should I be rotating players through the scrimmages to balance court time amongst my squad? (Once it is complete)

Squad Nationalities; Is there a limit / requirement for how many foreign and domestic players are allowed in a squad/team?

Thanks in advance, I look forward to getting my head around the game!

Training: You have a very short time to do this so I will just post for now. If you have no idea, then for this week choose Team training: Stamina.

Training is the most important long term way to improve your team in a fun way. You take some barely competent youngster with great potential and slowly craft him into a star. For your long term training wait until the draft next monday or tuesday, you may own a future superstar and that will determine what you do. Don't buy any more players until then.

Draft: You are picking 3rd. Aim for an 18 year old with high potential. You should be able to get someone fantastic if you have any scouting points. It would take me an hour to explain the draft in detail, read the FAQ in the Help section, it is quite good.

Scrimmages: You normally only have one scrimmage per week but at this time of season you may have more. They are a chance to give your players more minutes of game time which is critical for training and game shape (very important concelt, master this and you will be ahead of 90% of division IV managers).

Squad Nationalities: No limits, if you want an entire team from Khazakstan go for it. However our fans are very Nationalist and you will make a lot more money with Australian players.

There are some fairly extensive guides on the Help forums for stuff like this. I'd start there but the main thing would be deciding what you want to train. Either guards or big men (you can do SFs but save that for later)

The lower you are on the ladder, the higher your draft pick. For inter-conference rankings i think it goes by games won and then percentage points.

Yep, only 1 scrimmage per week. It's really just used to balance out your minutes after the 2 league games so you can manage training and gameshape minutes.

You can have as many foreign players on your team as you want but you'll get more merch money for local players.

Looking forward to seeing in the ABBL in a few years time =P

Just remember this game is marathon and not a sprint.

And there is a nice little local community happening if you fancy your chances @ http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thr....
