Wow, it has been a couple seasons; but here I am back in my old division. Looking forward to a great season.

First time in DIII! The league seems smaller from up here. Looking forward to a nice pick :)

My 2nd tour in DIII, looking to make it a bit longer than the 1st.

What are everybody's thoughts on the season? Anyone care to make some observations or predictions before the season gets rolling? Here is my rundown on the division. This is not to attack any one team; I am just trying to give a fair analysis of what I see.

Big 8

Eclypze: has a decent outside game; but, unless he is able to strengthen the inside, he will come short again this season

Fondy Bucks: has a balanced team without the depth needed for D III

G-Men: without some needed changes to his lineup structure, he won't make it far this season

Lake Charles Creoles: inside focus, but he will probably make it to the playoffs with his depth

Ozark Tigers: big inside focus with a couple big names; he needs to add a little depth but has a great shot at the playoffs

Rocket Propelled Arctic Divers: good balance, has more potential than the standings last year showed-definite playoff contender

Toronto Traptors: needs some strength on the outside to contend in D III

Updog Brewers: just missing one or two pieces to increase his chances at taking it all in the Big 8

Great 8

2 left feet: great balanced lineup that needs a little depth

Boston Constructs: scary good lineup for a new team to D III, definite playoff contender

Broken Arrow Tornados: another great balanced lineup, another definite playoff contender

Connecticut Cresleys: great team that finished far short of their potential last season

Schrodas Shootas: good team that could use another key guard in order to be a lock in the Great 8

Ron Swanson All-Stars: another good balanced roster only to be expected from a previous D III team, serious playoff contender

Steel City Cyborgs: lacks an inside presence but still a decent playoff contender

Wangsters: could use a more balanced approach with more depth

To summarize, the Great 8 definitely looks stronger than the Big 8 for this season. In fact, there are at least six teams in the Great 8 that are serious playoff contenders. It will be interesting to see if these teams can manage in such a manner that they will be able to gain one of those four coveted spots at the end of the season. I hesitate to post a more decisive prediction for the season; but, just for fun, here are my predictions for the playoffs:

Big 8

1. Ozark Tigers

2. Lake Charles Creoles

3. Updog Brewers

4. Eclypze

Semifinals: Ozark Tigers vs. Updog Brewers

Great 8

1. Schroda's Shootas

2. Broken Arrow Tornados

3. Boston Constructs

4. Ron Swanson All-Stars

Semifinals: Schroda's Shootas vs. Broken Arrow Tornados

FINALS: Schroda's Shootas vs. Updog Brewers

CHAMPION: Schroda's Shootas

Once again, I am just giving a fair opinion of what I see. If anyone disagrees, I would love to hear your view of the league for this season.

Wow!! I resemble that remark!!!!!!

While my team may not look very good from the outside . . . I have cleaverly positioned them in enough debt to look even worse from the inside!

Hey guy- ahh, it's nice to be back in D.III :) Pretty busy now in real life but I'm still hoping to be active in this forum at least. Also hoping to be reasonably competitive this season but there's a lot of good teams obviously so we'll see how my team comes together I guess.

Still have to look around the league a bit but I'll try to make some predictions too when I get a chance!

A lesson learnt in the first game. You cannot relax in DIII. Surrounding the court with journalists worked only for three quarters, until a semi total collapse and incredibly stupid time management. + they were up against a couple of freaks, who do not feel a not so young men´s pain. Next up a tasty gumbo and it feels like we´ll be doing the dishes.

Interesting rundown on the league and I, for one, can't argue with the assessment of my guys. I have been acutely aware of a slight lack of depth and am currently working on rectifying it.

Well, I have been busy but I would also like to welcome the new teams to the league. I am sure you all know by now this is a pretty tough league, there are no easy wins. Good luck to all, and the run down on all the teams was awesome.
