@LA-Turix:- What will you do to improve the NT and what kind of tactics would you prefer for the current NT squad?

Important thing will be to contact the managers that have NT players /or candidates asking them to train certain skills that is the most needed for National team. It's always nice to see, that someone really cares 'bout your player and it motivates a lot (at least It always worked with me).

Tactics.. well, hard to answer this questions without knowing the skills of all the players, right? ;) Anyways I have no complex in choosing tactics and every decition will depend on a certain situation. But I'm not big of a balanced offence tactics fan, tho (I dont think that those works g8 against good m2m defence), and I'm still not 100% sure how isolation/box&1 tactics works, so I probably wont use something like that in key games.

Well, I don't want to manage Latvia NT.. Why New Zealand? It was the first English speaking country that run into my mind :) when I was younger, I saw a documentary film about New Zealand and therefore always wanted to go there someday, but unfortunately because of a money matter never had a chance. So no spectacular reason, I just like your country.

Yeah, actually I didn't see much of a chances against SammyD even before writing my speech, but wanted to try anyways :)

I think the main problem our national team had a couple of seasons ago was there were no NZ players getting trained by NZ coaches. That meant that most of the NZ players in the NZ team were owned by overseas managers and not being trained past 22-24. That has changed the last few seasons with more NZ managers training our NT players and they are starting to come into the team now. So the main way I see to improve the team is to keep in contact with the coaches training these players who are in the team or just outside the team who are still receiving training and make sure they are training the same area's that would most benefit the national team.

This is a lot easier now that we have more NZ players being trained here in NZ as I said earlier. It was very hard sending messages to foreign managers who didn't speak English, Google translate isn't as good as it could be....

This is a question to all candidates:

What are your plans in terms of interaction and communication between you as the NT manager and us as the National managers? Do you plan to use the forums/BB-mail etc, and if so, how?

To all candidates, what do you think is the most important part of managing an NT? (there is no right/wrong answer)
