Today I used only 5 players because I wanted to be sure they play 48 mins this week. However, one of them was substituted for 5 minutes for a non existing player: a "lucky fan". Because of this, that player will not have a complete training. I don´t understand. What´s the idea?

I've heard of the lucky fan thing, but I thought that only happened if there was an injury or someone fouled out. That's the way it should be imo, if you're only sending 5 guys out to the game, there must be a good reason.

lucky fans prevent a too easy training regime of exactly 48 minutes/player.

Also it is better to have a lucky fan get on the court rather than having your player drop dead from to much play (in fact in real life people already died on a sportsfield, here in Belgium it happened to a famous volley-baaler once!)
So if the stamina is not enough for 48 minutes, it's best to have some back-up instead of playing your star to dead!!

Now, for this game. There is this thing 'lucky fan' since you now know about him you have the choice either keep playing 5 men and waste some minutes on lucky fans, or take 6 men to the game, and don't loose any trainingminutes to fans, but be sure a few players will not get the entire 48 minutes... It's what you like best.

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.
