The draft scouting has been completed, and you know what that means....time to highlight some of the very best names from the season 16 draft! A quick recap of the criteria used:

- 18 years old
- Allstar+ potential
- Based on current skill level (with projectability / ceiling also given some consideration)
- Canadian!

Let's get right to it! Here are the best looking Canadians that just emerged from the draft.

The BC Toroo U18 Select Teams version 3.0

1st Team
PG: Brett Otero (20813722); P.Allstar $5049
SG: Cédric Adam (20812773); MVP $4423
SF: René-Claude Lavoie (20811938); MVP $7336
PF: Dallas Williams (20813141); P.Allstar $6912
C: Francis Bolduc (20813528); Superstar $6661

2nd Team
PG: Luke Piper (20812746); MVP $4069
SG: Buford Rangel (20813617); P.Allstar $4025
SF: James Carey (20811845); Superstar $5377
PF: David Notman (20812621); P.Allstar $5540
C: Brent Kemp (20812498); Superstar $6015

3rd Team
PG: Reid Hoyle (20813560); HoF $3890
SG: Charles Waldron (20812471); Superstar $4260
SF: Cesare Polidoro (20813361); Allstar $4438
PF: Paolo Usai (20813112); P.Allstar $5192
C: Pearse Doherty (20813102); P.Allstar $4475

Keep in mind that the players selected involved some decisions on my part that could easily have gone in different directions, and the teams are just for fun; they won't be playing any actual games or anything. It will be interesting to see how many of these players end up playing for Canada one day. :)

Damn, Cedric Adam on the first team sold for less than $250,000. I put in a bid, but wish I'd been on the computer when he was expiring.

Had something similar happen with a PG I wanted, MVP, 6'0, $3500 missed his expiration and saw he went for only $153000:(

And I totally stole this idea for the England U21 team:)

These 2 didn't make the cut?

Paul Bertram Sauer - C - HOF - $5712 (20812788)

Patrick Eade - C - all-star -$5697 (20812387)

Nope, they didn't. :P

The lists aren't based on salary, but a mix of current skills, projected trainability, and a dash of arbitrarily picking guys (as how to rank brand new 18 year olds is definitely not an exact science). Eade and Sauer are both interesting prospects, and on the scouting lists, but I don't see either guy as one of the top 6 draftees for C/PF.

I am sad my guy wasn't chosen :(

(20811755)

He got a double pop after first week of training.

No worries. :)

Chacon is still a very good prospect, with great height for a guard and amazing potential. He's behind slightly on starting skills (compared to the guys on the list), but his overall mix looks good, and I could definitely seem him developing into an amazing player.

Good old undrafted players that are created in the first few weeks of a season. :P

I think I would put Matthew Bradshaw (22255019) as the third team PF, and bump Usai off the list. In general, though, I think Williams is the best big man prospect, and then Bolduc, Notman, Bradshaw, and Kemp would be the next best 4 (in any order). After that, there is a bit of a drop down to the 6th best guy (keeping in mind that it is still way to early for these rankings to mean very much for future U21 teams and so on).

Looking at all 109 names on my 18 year old prospect list, regardless of position, Bradshaw is a guy that I would rank in the top 10. He would also arguably be top 5, depending on how the Bolduc/Notman/Bradshaw/Kemp list got shaken down.

nice. too bad i will forst train him in outside skills, so unless JNT can use well balanced SF with a weakness in JR he will be of no use. Hopefully can get him to NT some time
