Hello guys !

We'll talk about our games here. We start with a loss, but there's a long (but interesting way) to victories. My first feelings :

Lubnan - Taiwan : debriefing

Hello guys.

Lubnan 88-120 Taiwan this afternoon (for me !).

To be honest, there wasn't any expectations about this match. Taiwan was a too big team for us to try to win. So we had a prudent approach : we wanted to learn how to coach these players to grab victories in a near future.

Good points : rebounding ! With 42-42, our rebound is not so bad. Jaghbeer is a great player, probably our best one. We'll build a team around him. Our free throws percentage was good too. Yaseen is a good attacking player, but he's still to weak in defense, which is our biggest problem.

Bad points : Outside defense : we can't win a match with 120 points at 52/94 in the face. The paint : there's Jaghbeer and... Jaghbeer ? MacLennan had a bad match (defense and offense) and Sartawi too. But as Taiwan attacked our outside line, it's logical. But we need to defend harder.

To my mind, two priorities after this match : defense (outside and especially inside), and a power forward to put with Jaghbeer in the paint. Now, it's difficult for me to use a 3-2 zone with only one good guy in the paint. It's a tactical suicide, so I need more options.

Last thing : I'm satisfied with last week training so thanks, and keep pushing, guys !

Thanks for reading and of course : Go go go Lubnan !!

Good job, guys !

Pakistan - Lubnan : first victory !

Congrats all !

To be honest, I didn't think our first victory could come right now, but if you want to win, you first have to try to win. Against Pakistan, we tried to win... and it worked ! Of course, I'm satisfied, and I want to thank you for your answers by MP when I asked you to help me.

It's a great beginning, we need to continue exactly on this way.

Good points : rebounding an other time! But this 61-39 is not as good as it seems : zone 1-3-1 is always hard for rebound. Our outside attack was efficient to : 44 pts (19/32) for Skojha/Sartawi, with a high percentage. It's very good but Sartawi made too many fouls. Jaghbeer was quite impressive too, on an outside play. Fantastic player, I'm in love^^.

Bad points : We still have to improve our defensive play. 97 pts, it's bad with a so risky approach. And against a better team, it's too much too win. Our 3/15 from downtown is ugly too. I have to keep in mind this stat for next games.

Our priorities have not changed : defense, and power forward. We need time, I know, but this victory makes me hungry !

PS : Go go go Lubnan !!!
