I think I made a mistake, I built my team just with young players, all with 18yo, I want to get money, and just train this young players, my doubt is if they will take too long to pop because I wanna train all those guys, one week PG an SG and the other week PF and C. Did I make a big mistake?

Yes. Players need to be trained every week to develop. That's why you focus on training for some positions and buy veteran players for the others

you need to get 3 18 yo players with at least perrinial allstar pot. and single position train them consistently every week. In 2 seasons you will have good players, and in 4 (mabe 3 if you train right) you will have monsters. Also, make sure that you at least have a level 4 trainer.

he's not in that high of a league, so the potential doesnt really matter as much i think.

5 is enough for 3rd division.
6 is enough for 2nd division.
There is only one reason to train players with better potential - You can get more money if You sell player with better potential because most of users in BB overestimate potential and they think that they need 7 or more. Sometimes better potential is needed if team is unbalanced (but unbalanced team isn't recommended).
7 is enough for SF to win World Championships (in future at least 8 will be needed). And 7 is enough for almost all players in U21 (I think 90% of them).
8 is enough for 1st division and for whichever player in U21 (for every position).
9, 10 and 11 are needed only for NT and B3.

Yes a mistake but not fatal. Choose one or two positions only to train. You want young players with the right height and good potential for them. For the other positions you want better but older and cheaper players.

For example if you are training PF/C then there is no point having a 18 yo point guard, you would be better off selling him and getting a 27 year old with better skills but who is worth the same money.

I realized my mstake and now I'm looking for older guards, I have decided to train my PF and C Positions, putting my SF's at PF in scrimmage to train them too

I do not agree with this. Becouse when you train someone, you want them to be you best player for a long time. with 5 potential, your player will most likely cap around 20k. This is an OK, but not great starter in most USA Div III leagues. When I chose my best trainee (jarvis Carolson) I said, I want him to be a good player all the way through div II. he will most likely be that for me, if and when I finally get to DIV 2.

There are 3498 teams in USA and only 64 of them can play in 2nd division (plus 16 in 1st division).
80/3498 = ~2%.
If we count 3rd league (256 teams) it's still less than 10%. It means that in over than 90% of cases potential = 5 is enough.
If You want to play in 2nd league then potential = 5 is of course too less. But only 2% of teams in USA can play in 2nd league. For other 98% of teams potential = 7 or better isn't needed.
Potential = 6 is enough for 2nd division (it's possible to build good team in 2nd division without better players than allstars). If You want to build unbalanced team (with few stars better than needed) then probably You need few players with potential = 7. If You want to build unbalanced team, or You want to prevent to unexpected cap because You want to train players higher than needed then maybe You should add one level to potentials written above. But it isn't necessary, it's only Your choise.

well i chose this, beacause I will hopefully be in div 3 next season, immideatly ready to compete for a playoff spot depending on the league. Also MOST teams have at least 1 star.

edit: typo
