I played Run and Gun in my last game with my usual man to man defense, and my rebounding dropped from inept to awful. Does playing Run and Gun hurt my rebounding or was this just the result of low enthusiasm?

Its probably the result of your low enthusiasm. While I think RnG does affect rebounding, I have found it only takes away 1 or 2 OR from a normal offense.

I read somewhere that RnG reduces the rebounding rating because the guards often take shots soon after they possess the ball and the big-men don't have the time to get into their positions (your team's big-men ofc).

But on the other hand, wouldn't that also apply for the opponents? Something to think about in my opinion.

Run and Gun shouldn't affect much rebounding, but shouldn't be compared to Look Inside or Low Post. That said, Look Inside gives you advantage to offensive rebounding, while RnG doesn't help neither damage it.

There are many reasons why your rebound dropped. Among them, your opponent might have been stronger than you in that department.

I know this is off-topic, but finally there's someone from US who knows the difference between "effect" and "affect". I don't mind if non-native English speakers mix it up, but sadly almost every US poster in these forums do that too. +1 for that

I would use here affect too, and eyxplain how i understand those too words so that you could correct me where i am wrong:

affect does mean imfluence something, when i am right, like a sideeffect.

And effect is more direct, an influence which leads to an result like i push the bottle so that the bottle drop from the table.

Well, to put it simpler: effect is a consequence to something, while affect directly influences on something before or during that "something" occured.

"Yesterday the heat affected my stamina while playing basketball. Today I have the effect - burned skin."

In general, opponent players (their skills) do not affect your team ratings. Team ratings is simply the amount of skill you put on the floor in function of time + the chosen tactics. The tactics (it's pace, to be more precised) of the opponent can make some influence though.

Yeah its really annoying when people mess up with words like that. I mean if a foreign speaker messes it up I'm just glad they used one of the two but when a person who has been to school for at least 10 years messes up something like that its just embarrassing.

1st of all don't just look at the rating, because its only an overall estimation mainly from ur PF,C reb skill

1. pace of the game affect the total number of shot = total number of rebound available reb for grab, but not the rating
2. amount of enthusiasm and playing attitude do affect all rating
3. the % of minutes distributed to your good rebounder and bad rebounder at the PF, C have effect too
4. if u can match a good(reb) outside player in the lane, u can get good result even with lower overall reb rating
