I always thought that keeping minutes between 50-80 was necessary to have strong/proficient game shape, but sometimes while scouting teams I seem to find anomalies. (11371613) played 105 minutes last week and he is in good game shape. Is suppose he could've dropped from proficient to strong, but I would expect a bigger drop for 105 minutes. I'm pretty sure that I've noticed similar things before.

Obviously, some players have a high tolerance for big minutes. Is there a consensus out there regarding the maximum number of minutes per week (on average) a player can play and remain in respectable or better game shape? For the sake of this discussion, let's consider those players who have high tolerances for big minutes as well as the average player.
Thx

I think the consensus is that 80 is too many. I try to keep my minutes between 50-70. But gameshape calculation has quite a big random component, and there's some speculation regarding a possible correlation with stamina and if the minutes in previous weeks also count or not. Nevertheless, since last week was all-star week w/ only 2 games for most teams, it's possible that some managers trained GS to keep their teams in good shape

I think performance is somehow linked to GS. I have no data on it, but I have noticed when players with bad stamina play too much in a single game even with 50-80 played int the week their GS is lowered.

Generally speaking, the best is to keep players at 50-80 minutes a week. With GS, there is also a random factor where you are not guaranteed GS changes even if you hit the sweet spot of 50-80 minutes.

There have been cases of players going up in GS with slightly over 80 minutes and players could also drop GS despite playing 60 minutes.

The consensus however is that to maintain good GS at strong/proficient, players should play no more than 80 minutes. Obviously 105 minutes is too much but again it could be the random factor that he dropped only 1 GS level rather than 2.

So you're saying that you have seen hints that a player who plays 25 minutes in game 1 and 30 in game 2 has a better chance of good GS than a player who plays 55 minutes in a single game (that goes to double OT)? Interesting...

I do not believe this to be true as GS is calculated on a weekly basis rather than on a per game basis.

Otherwise, we'd all be on bad GS when we don't play our stars for the scrimmage.

Yeah, I believed it would just be a function of the # of minutes + randomness

my trainees always get 48 minutes and stay at strong/proficient GS. However, i would narrow the range down to 45-65 minutes per week. Just my opinion

He might have trained GS maybe? Also a trainer with fitness prevents a drop of too much GS if they play too many minutes.

Actually it's a doctor with massage ability who reduces the bad effects of too many minutes on GS.

A fitness trainer reduces stamina loss on your players.
