I have the following trainee and I am torn as to what to train him to be. Are SF or PF more valuable in this game and what direction should I take this player? What should he look like when done? I am leaning toward a PF, but people say that SF are harder to come by in this game. Just want some opinions.

Thanks

It depends what suits your needs. However, i always like SFs, so if it were i would point you in that direction. The way he looks right now, if you alternate OD, ID, and 1v1, you will get one hell of a PF.

Alright so I am a little confused. This is going to be my star player for years to come and to build around him. Are you saying I should make him into a hell of a PF or a SF a little confused by your message.

Thanks

If you would like to train him for a longer period, I'd definitely go for the PF option. He is a bit to tall to train outside skills for a SF. And since I've been training SF's for a season or 6, I definitely can tell the difference in trainingspeed is significant.

From the looks this guy is more suited for a center than PF his OD and JR are too low to make into a good PF.

Let's put it like this. Your player is really a bit too tall for a "inside-out" SF. But there are successful 6 foot 10 SF, like the ace in Lietuva NT and the one owned by Secret Agents. I'd say that 6"9 is still alright and with this kind of outside skills, it's a waste if he doesn't become a world class SF in the future. But of course, he's probably a inside-focused SF. Stop training 1on 1. Train OD to 12-13 at the very least. This will take you roughly a season (yes, it's real slow for a 6'9). At the same time, ID may rise to 10. Then train RB. With his potential, his sky is unlimited, if you are patient enough.

Well-rounded PF's, like this player has the potential to become, are just as rare as true SF's in this game. Darkyjozef had a few good posts yesterday on the US forum on the value a player like this would have as a PF. Check it out if you get a chance.
