Because of a injury I'm considering training a 30 year old player for a week or 2.
I know the player in question is high in those skills, probably somewhere above 50% to the next level.
Does someone has experience to say training such a player for 2 weeks might be worthwhile?
The guy in question is relatively well rounded, 211 cm and the training would be IS.

For only 2 weeks of training you wont get a pop unless he is one sub-level from popping already. A 30yo is really only worth training as your 3rd trainee behind two serious trainees, and even then he may only pop once in a whole season.

Also consider that (i think you're aware of this too) getting no pops doesn't mean he's not getting better (skill sublevels)...

not necessarily. If this guy is one of your main guys he could use a couple of weeks of training, maybe drops in that certain skill will occur later

Do you have any proof of that? I didn't train 30y old players yet, but I suspect if you trained a 211cm 30yold guy in IS with 48min each week, he should pop at least twice, if not three times in whole season.

There is plenty of info in the training speed analysis threads regarding when players training slows. I'm giving a 26yo full training and struggling to get a few pops at the moment, I can only imagine how bad a 30yo would be.

Can you tell us a bit more about this training? What are you training, 1 or 2 position, level of trainer, height of trainee?

I am still training my 29yr old HOF NT SG(trying to keep the NT coach happy) and at first I wasn't expecting anything but I have gotten an IS,Driving and a handling pop this season and it only took 2 1 on 1 F's training and an IS...I will be training rebounding next week and if he pops in that, that will open my eyes to the training of older players. Now, don't get me wrong, If he wasn't a NT player there is no way I still train him.

Trikster and I (see I spent it right!) know a guy who has been seriously training a 27 year old and his conclusions were that the speed of a 26-7 year old are somewhere about 50%-25% of the speed of an 18 year old, so bad but not impossible.
