Euphoria Seekers
Every week, I look through dozens of teams trying to find a suitable scrimmage opponent. It can be frustrating and time consuming. So, I thought maybe I could start a thread for teams looking for low-contact scrimmages.

In my view, there are 2 important things in a scrimmage opponent. First, their scrimmage team has to be either good enough or bad enough to make my weekly player minutes work out well. Sometimes, its ideal to get 40+ minutes out of several players, while other weeks I want a super-easy game, so that the starters sit out the 4th quarter and my backups can get 15 minutes or so.

Second, a good scrimmage opponent cannot be foul prone. What is worse than having a player injured during a silly scrimmage? When I weed out teams, I generally look at the season stats and if the team total of PF/game is over 16, I reject that team.

In a perfect world, opponents would also play slow-paced offense, again to reduce the likelihood of injuries. I normally play patient in scrimmages.

Anyway, it would be cool if some teams could proclaim themselves to be good scrimmage material, in my estimation.

I don't think your suggestion is a bad one in and of itself, as I recall a time when there was a sticky thread in global just for finding scrimmages. Perhaps a forum just for scrimmages wouldn't be a terrible idea?

However, this part:

Second, a good scrimmage opponent cannot be foul prone. What is worse than having a player injured during a silly scrimmage? When I weed out teams, I generally look at the season stats and if the team total of PF/game is over 16, I reject that team.

I don't see how a team's season stats are relevant, as they only reflect minutes played in league games. I don't think I'm alone in having players whose sole purpose is to play in scrimmages and eat minutes, and checking season stats won't tell you anything about how foul-prone these players may (or may not) be.

Unless you are flag-chasing as well as scrutinizing your scrimmage mates, you should try to find a regular scrimmage opponent that feels the same way you do. Then you know you will always have a scrimmage, you can discuss lineups and tactics, and you know what sort of opponent you have.
