What is the reason for a defensive player to try to save the ball going out of bounds after a missed shot?!! Since its introduction the influx of "trying to get the rebound.." has been a quantitatively unrealistic addition, and despite an outcry of requests to tone it down, it's still a feature that dominates the GE commentary. Can anyone explain why?

I agree that there is an excess of these "missed" rebounds, but this situation can happen. Players can battle for the rebound and the ball can end up going out of bounds and someone tries to save it. I don't think it necessarily means that nobody has touched the ball after the shot was released.

I think they will dial it back a little when they update the GE. But what I would like to see is this kind of situation being treated like a game stoppage, where you can make subs, call timeouts, etc. Right now the clock starts running right away. Some extra breaks in play are needed imo, because sometimes the game just keeps going for a long time with no fouls and players end up playing too many minutes because others can't sub in. It's like someone putting Michael Ruffin in just for him to hack Dwight Howard and then being stuck with him on the court for the rest of the quarter!

Maybe in your locker room, but not mine. My guys are eunuchs.
