I'd say average-respectable is enough. One of my guards has Strong with high sublevel and he shoots 82,8%. Unless your player has great secondaries (HA and JS on inside players or DR, HA and IS on guards) and he suffers a lot of fouls; in that case, I'd go with Proficient/Prominent. Bear in mind though that even Inept or Mediocre is good enough if your player is in good game shape and has enough experience.

as a general rule for myself, if they are goign to be a starter, then i want them to have average at least.

If you find that a player takes a lot of free throws in a season, then anything up to proficient is good. IMO anything above that is unneccasssary. Although i did have a guy with wonderous FT once, and he missed one free throw in the year. so that was kind of nice.

Had a player with high awful (3) FT shoot 69% on 77 attempts!! And a different guy with inept FT shoot 74% on 50 attempts. Also, they both had really low experience at the time. Of course those % are way above what's expected.

Probably a fluke, but had a guy with Tremendous (13) FT shoot only 78% for a season... highest experience on my team, proficient stamina & always strong-proficient game shape! Still remember him once shooting 2-6 in 10 minutes & thinking how is this possible, lol.

i think more your awful or inept guys are a fluke, normally they end more in the 60%.

The difference from respectable/strong to higher skills are very small, and i would go for stamina training if you don't have other player who really need it instead.

I played this game since Season 18, I did not train free throw ...

If the week has two games only, I still train stamina rather than free throw ...

legendary is somewhere 100%, had a guy with lvl 23 ft in few seazons, after he got 19+ fts, never missed single ft:) personally i think lvl 9-12 of fts is excellent, guy with 10 fts shoots around 77%
