Hello all.
I have a question about the search system in buzzerbeater. I noticed that in order to search for player names you need to enter both the name and the surname. This, in my opinion, is not correct. If a manager wants to search for a specific surname of any player, chances are that he doesn't care about his name. Let me give an example.
Lets say I want to search for a player with the surname "BROWN". That means that I want to find any player with this surname, regardless of name. Same applies if I want to search for any player that has the name "JOHN", although I doubt any players will search for names...
Unfortunately the search system doesn't give you you this option. It REQUIRES a name (or at least 2 characters in the name) to search for a surname. This has a bad effect in the search options, making the search feature nearly useless. If I want to find players with surname Brown, I cannot possibly know their names prior to knowing their very existence! Correcting the mandatory input of name, would allow anyone to search for a specific surname without limitations that do not make sense. Another possible tool, in order to limit results, would be to allow the use of wildcards in the name/surname/alias searches. Using asterisks would help a lot to search for desired names/surnames/aliases.
The above problem is not active in the "Search for team" option. In this option one can search for name OR ID...that's why there are 2 search buttons, when in "Search for name" there is only one search button. To present how problematic the "Search for player" setup is, imagine if "Search for team" option would REQUIRE as mandatory the input of team name when one would search for ID !!! And of course it would have been even worse when searching for a team name, the search feature would require the ID as mandatory...It would make searching impossible.
Thank you.
