With the regular season coming to an end it is of course time to hand out those season stats awards. I know you've all been hanging for this, so here it is!

'What's Pass' Award - Brodey Haddock [FLA] The young SG sensation from Flaming Ramzays did not disappoint after earning some early expectations to stand out. He wasn't quite able to hold an average over 30ppg but at 22 years of age, i'm sure he'll only get better. This season's scoring title was won with an average of 29.3ppg, a little under last year's winner Geoff Bulewski who managed 30.5ppg.

'Glass Polishing' Award - Géza Bodnár [MMM] Managed to go one better this season to claim the rebounding title and smashing his last season's average with 19.5rpp. That would have easily been enough to jump Edneslon Nascimento last season who only averaged 15.8rpp to win the title. More to come from Moosa's big man? At only 23 years of age, I think so.

'Dish Delish' Award - Narcís Gràcia [MMM] Another title for one of Moosa's "mad men", this time his PG dishing out dimes to comfortably hold off Dean Berger, with a tally of 7apg. Disappointingly last year's winner Bartol Brljak [SS] failed to play enough games to qualify to defend his title, of which he won with 8.3apg. Perhaps next season will see this rivalry heat up.

'My Precioussss' Award - Peter Igelborg [VIO] The Violationer's starting SG is another player managed to improve on last season's 2nd placing, to snatch the title for highest steal average with 1.9spg. Narcis Gracia must have been too busy setting team mates up offensively and dropped away at the defensive end. Last year he took the title with 2.0spg, this season he failed to make the top 10.

'Not in My House' Award - Jared Sherwin [CHE] The "Sherwinator" really stepped up his game in the defensive end this season, charging to the block title after failing to make the 10 last season. Swatting shots like flies, Jared kept up an average 1.9bpg and just sneaking over the line, ahead of Lluís Rodríguez Marín who had 1.8bpg. Last season's victor would have put them both to shame claiming his title with 2.1bpg.

'Got Clutz'Award
- Olexandr Kravchenko [FLA] Another award going to Flaming Ramzays, just this one not so prestigious as the scoring title. The "Krav" threw away 2.6topg, falling a ways short of last year's "winner" Juozas Vintilas who fumbled 3.2topg. Might need to get some grippo on this boys hands if there's any chance to avoid the relegation series!

'Bruiser' Award - Božo Vasilić [VIO] Big bad Bozo probably starting to live up to his name implies more so these days. Clearly grouchy over failing to defend his MVP title in season 16, came out with a vengeance this season. Unfortunately his aggressive demeanor meant more fouls and a Bruiser title to add to his trophy cabinet. 3.9fpg had Bozo relatively short below fellow team mate Fang Beimin's winning tally of 4.2fpg last season. What's the coach feeding these boys? Steriods?

'Workhorse' Award - Haci Mahfer [MMM] Looks like Moosa is trying to gain a reputation for being a slave driver. Once again one of his cattle has taken the minutes per game title. This season Mahfer pipped fellow team mate Gracia who did the reverse in season 16. 46.9mpg for Mahfer vs Gracia's 44.6mpg last season. It must also be mentioned that Bodnar came 4th. For the record, last season Moosa had his starting 5 all within the top 12 positions. Bit of S&M funny business going on here possibly?

The last thing to see now is who takes out the MVP this season? Without being too biased, I have been suggesting Bozo is back in MVP form and with the team moving up the ladder this season, could see him do it again. Averaging 23.2ppg, 14.0rpg, 3.4apg, 1.7bpb, I think it's a pretty good bet. Put in you suggestions here and lets consider who the favourites are?

Great writeup Vios. As for the MVP it always seems to be a combination of stats, rating and wins. Looking at ratings three guys stand out a mile, François Navarro of the Mages, Tomé Salgueiro from Haggards and my own Jared Sherwin who averaged 16, 15 and 15 ratings this season and are also on teams that factored very highly in the wins totals. However when it comes to stats it is hard to equal Bozo who was 4th in the league in both scoring and rebounds. You know I also think that Adrian Shortall is an incredible player 5th in scoring, 9th in rating but Beechys record will count against him.

I'm pretty certain that rating doesn't hold too much stead when it comes to MVP, though i'm sure it's probably considered. In the seasons where Bozo won previously he was never even in the top 5 for rating. One season he was even south of top 10. I think games won/ladder position has a large influence, as well as stats. Last season Bozo's stats were around the same as previous seasons but I failed to make finals and he finished 6th. The two seasons he won I finished 2nd and 1st on the ladder. This season i'm 3rd so it will be interesting to see.

Players that stand out based on my theory are Haci Mahfer, I think Moosa probably finished too low to stand out. Salgueiro is looking pretty solid and with 2nd place should poll well, as will Sherwin for similar reasons. Beechy has two guys up there (Shortall/Conglei) but due to his lack of winning this season, neither has any chance. Vic's talks up Lefevre, but I think he's a bit short on stats to get the big one, even though "Shady's" lads finished 2nd seed.

I'm always interested to see who wins, trying to figure out the system for selection.

Ah yeah, my bad. I meant Shortall, always get those two mixed up for some reason.

Nice work again. Just when there is not much going on you come up with this stuff. Yes it might seem like I have become a slave driver with my players. As I stated at the start of the season in a thread I have made plenty of mistakes and one of them was selling my bench to try and promote. No good. Better for the experience. It will be more evenly spread in the coming seasons.

Maybe it's that they both have curly blonde hair and play SF... :-P

@Moosa - Yeah I don't find as much time to do the write ups, though I still enjoy it when I do. I like to get the league leaders up at the end of the season, though I think I missed last season.

This games a good blend of managing, timing and luck. You need to do well with all of them to progress or you may end up getting stuck like Beechy did. There comes a time when all teams will have to seriously consider selling up and rebuilding, in or order to get better. Personally I try to keep a relatively young team but I've never made ABBL, so i'm no expert.
