I'm pretty sure it's based on your team's league record and point differential. So of all the teams in IV that didn't win their playoffs, the ones with the best record will get promoted until all the bots are replaced.

I am in division 5 league 199, i finished 19-3, the only other human in either side of my league is unbeaten and running over everyone by 50+ a game, the two games against me he won by 54 then 28 and I have him in the semi's, presuming i lose, do I get promoted or will I be in the same league again next season???

I believe last season there only 3 bots in DIII. I would love a bot promotion. if I fail to win the Championship. My record is 20-2 with a 663 pt differential. Here's to no upsets!
