I'm very new, and very eager to hear what kind of thing I should avoid doing as a starting team, and what I should definitely do as soon as I can.

Be very carefull with your money. You will get a $50k starterbonus the first 4 weeks, but after that you should try to make enough money to stay around.

You are lucky that you got a TV game right away, you will get 3 of those in a season, which gives you extra money (210k in the III.), with that money you should get enough income to stay in the 'black numbers' for a while.

Make sure to not buy dozens of players, just select a good training and sell a few other players, try to reduce your roster to 12-14. I see you don't have any 18 yo or 19 yo players, so you can do two things. Just train your 20 yo guards, or try to pick up some mediocre 18yo players from the transferlist.

Just try to get a scrimmage every thursday so that your players will play enough minutes every week (between 48 and 90 minutes).
