The fifth defender focuses on the opponent's best outside scorer. Normal pace.

Is it somehow comparable to a 3-2 zone defense, just with the best outside defender taking care of the best shooter in a man2man defense?

I still don“t really get those new options, neither offensively nor defensively. I just get the advise to stand pat and choose the traditional ones.

best defender tries to defend best oponent outside player, while other 4 guys will try to block passing lanes, so basicly when his best player gets ball, he gets izolated from his teammates, and if ur guard facing him is good at defence, hell throw bricks.

That's what you hope will happen, but from the times I've used, and discussions I've seen, I haven't been too happy with the results

There were some posts discussing it. I don't have supporter so I can't search the forums. If I remember correctly, and also based on using it a couple of times, it's not clear who your "one" is, because you see your opponent's star often shooting while guarded by other people, and it's also not clear what kind of "box" the other 4 players form

So, whether this defence is an outside defence or a balance defence strategy?

I am thinking to try it once in scrimmage and see how it works ...
