I have what looks like a couple of tough games coming up against teams ranked ahead of me in the country and world rankings. My roster has nine players, three of them 10K salary guys between 20-26 years old. Everyone else on my roster are $4K players. For my league, my players put up very good stats (4 or 5 of them are ranked among league leaders, including leading scorer at 31 ppg through four games.)

My opponents have players who are all $3,500 or less, and they only have one or two that is $3k players, most of them are $1K and $2K players. They do not have any high-salary players at all.

Am I heavily favored against these teams? Or is there a good chance that they will play me close? I'm sure that on any given days, anyone can beat anyone. But how likely is it that these teams will beat me if they don't upgrade their roster?

Can $3K guys hang with $10K guys on a regular basis in BB? I'm new so I'm not sure. Thanks for the help. And I'm posting this here because this is opinion, otherwise I would have posted it in help. Or is this still a help topic? Thanks.

Oh, and if I'm correct that my guys are better based on what I said above, why does a team with such low players, teams that I beat last season, rank ahead of me in the world and country standings?

As a general rule, players with higher salaries are better than players with lower salaries. It's not exact, because players with lower salaries could be getting trained, and their salary increase won't happen until the end of the season. Also, some players have higher salary simply because they're high in one skill, and low in others. Often, a lower salary player with balanced skills will be better than a higher salary player with one awesome skill.

But in general, and in your case I think, those teams can't hang with you (although I do recommend getting a few more players to help with minutes distribution and game shape).

Country and World Rankings are wildly inconsistent, and really shouldn't be used as a bearing on who is better than whom. Especially for newer teams.
