Enthusiasm is one aspect of the game that I am a little unclear about.

I am a little unclear on the system to be honest. I know that crunch time games result in a low enthusiasm after and I want to know if 3 games of take it easy will result in good enthusiasm for a week or two after and here is why.

In a few week I have a series of games in which I am almost guaranteed to win the 1st, lose the 2nd and lose 3rd.

I am considering the idea of taking it easy for all three games with the hopes that my enthusiasm will shoot up for the week or 2 after in which I have even opponents. Not sure then if I should play crunch time or normal for the next several games after to help by chances to make the playoffs.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

your plan to tie those three games is good, your enthusiam will fall afterwards quite fast(it goes faster the higher the enthusiam is) but you will stay over 5 a while.

Crunch time during the season, makes mostly no sense, cause you notice it over a bunch of games. But if you manage your enthusiam well, your normal could be like a CT ;) I normally try to play 1 game tie each each week(+ a cup tie), but often you make two or sometimes none.

Thank you for the input, it helps a ton +1. Good point on not using CT during the regular season. While I do a good job of managing my GS I have done a terrible job of using enthusiasm to my advantage.

Now at the about the 2 season mark (2 half seasons and 1 full) and I am still trying to nail down some of the finer points of the game.

don't worry, i believe learning the right enthusiam strategy needs some time, cause it is hard to formalize it besides that you should tie easy win and very likely loses(except cup games where a ct might be useful)

I'd suggest downloading Coach Parrot and playing around with the enthusiasm calculator there. Just remember that when you're out of the cup you have to set scrimmage games to normal. Then, you can switch between normal and TIE in various league games to see how it will affect your enthusiasm.

you should use your enthu wisely.... in my league i almost play tie in evry game except if my opponents are lot stronger than me, and also if its my home court advantage.

enthusiasm starts at base 5 (at the start of every season) it increases by 30% every time you use the TIE (or take it easy) after the game it starts to decrease and revert back to its original base which is 5. Scrimmages don't allow you to use the TIE option. So if your current enthusiasm is 5 and you use tie it will be 6+ the next game you play. If you decide to take it easy again it will be around 8+ next game. the highest enthusiasm will go is 15 but come game time you are really looking at 12+ maximum and if you are already out of the CUP 10 or 11 might be the max, because you cannot use TIE in scrimmage games
