For something different, i am gonna post my top 5's of season 18, league 3.12 up until the All-Star break!

Skyhookz Top 5

5 - The Chanless Dreamers!

In a tough Blue division, the Dreamers were expecting to battle relegation, and after an 0-4 start that is how things were looking. The Dreamers found their mojo, winning 4 in a row, before David Chan suffered a 2 week injury. Without Chan, things looked grim, but the Dreamers dug deep and went 4 wins and 1 loss without their star player. A phenomanal effort, when you consider without Chan, the remaining Dreamers earn 80k per week between them, probably the lowest salary in the league.

4 - A red team with a future

Take the fact that the last 2 promoting signs have come from the red side, things looked REALLY grim on that side of the fixture this year. The 2 winningest teams are heading towards BOT-DOM, so things looked bleak.. Step in promotee Noidya and his 6'0 Chinese trainee Cikun! In a conference dominated by limited to no training, it is great to see a team training from within and having success. Noidya currently sit in 3rd space on the red side, but should easily be leading the red conference by seasons end, and the future looks to be secured for this team!

3- Feel the THUNDER!

Tilley Thunder were promoted to div 3.12, after just 2 seasons in division 4. They arrived with a young squad, and an underdeveloped stadium.. Since arriving, they have asked for advice on how to improve, and run with it. Looking at their team you can see signs of a developing roster, but off the court you can see Tilley really making a difference. The Thunder have invested a pile of $$$ into upgrading their stadium, and are building a really solid base for their future. Always great to see guys take advice given, and run with it.

2 - The Talent

Whilst there is a huge divide between the leagues best and worst teams, the overall talent in this league is unbelievable. Not only is the league littered with U21 players, but some of the guys training up also have a good future in the U21 ranks.. Without forgetting the trainees, the established Talent in this league is phenomenal. Just check out the All-Star rosters, and you will see teams littered with guys on 50-60k plus salaries. These guys would fit in well in some div 2 leagues, but in 3.12, if you aint got em, you aint promoting.

1- The Plebs

Err.. The Gladiators..(sorry Bains...) They have underachieved in the past, but this season so far they are playing some great ball. This team is legit in all positions, and their back court of Igor and Notis is arguably the best in the league, throw Snaz and Addison to rotate through as needed, as well as some good trainees, they are well and truly covered. Terroso and Cornelius are a great supporting pair in the Front court as well. Its a do or die season for the Gladiators. As it stands at All-Star weekend, it is their season to lose, but there are a number of teams still looking to knock them off their perch!

Season 18 has been great so far! i Cant believe the talent in this league right now! lets keep it up lads, and look forward to an exciting playoffs!

Feel free to add your top 5 to the list as well! i was thinking of doin a bottom 5, but it is all about positive vibes :D

My favorite player for the season has been my $8k SF in training.
Fernando doesn't receive full training every week but he's making ok progress.
and for $8k to be AVERAGING a 10rating playing SF in this league, i think he's truly out-doing himself.
he's not a league leader by any means but he does enough of everything to bring a smile to my face and all for the poultry sum of $8800 a week. :)

ok Hippo, you asked for it, you got it!

Dreamerz top 5 players for season 18, by position..

PG - Igor Zakharov - Gisborne Gladiators - In my mind, Igor is the difference between the over-promising and under delivering-Gladiators of previous seasons, and the league leading Gladiators of today.
Igor is averaging 18.2ppg, 8.1 assists, 2.7 boards and 2 steals per game, in 41 mins per outing. Igor is the man that is hopefully leading the Gladiators to division 2 next season.

SG - Gerald Davila - Mad Rangas - The SG position was probably the most difficult to fill, yet the easiest at the same time. The league is crammed full of so many good shooters, but Davila is lightyears ahead of the pack at the moment. Whilst eh doesnt dominate any single category, he is nearly 1 full point ahead in the overall ratings, showing he has an all round complete game. He is shooting the lights out with 17.5ppg, at a very high .482% for the season!

SF - Klaudiusz Pabich - Zeds Army - Pabich has been a feature in 3.12 since season 14, and is one of the genuine superstars of the league. Very few, if any, can compete with Pabich at SF, he is the most complete SF in the league, but lacks a supporting cast around him.
Pabich is averaging 22,7ppg, 4 assists, 4.4 boards and 2.4 steals per game in 40.1min per game. With the right support around him, Pabich could take the Army to div 2.

Gab Wall - Mad Rangas - What more needs to be said about this guy. Aus U21 NT representative, and all around bad ass. At 7'2 Wall has been well trained, and still has untapped potential to get even better. He dominates in the paint at both end of the floor
Wall averages 10.7ppg, 14,7 boards, 2.3 blocks per game in just 31.8mins per game. Wall has also gotten better and better throughout this season, and his ave. rating has gotten higher and higher as the season progresses.

Jay Cornelius - Gisborne Gladiators The race between Gumble and Cornelius was close for the starting C, but with saints going bot, Cornelius gets the nod. Cornelius again really doesnt dominate 1 category, but is the perfect role playing C in a team pushing for promotion.. His stat line isnt great, but he is the 3rd highest rating player in 3.12, and shows you dont have to be scoring 20ppg to have a major impact on a team.

Well, there is it, a couple of surprise inclusions I am sure. Rangas and Gladiators both get 2 nods, but when you break things down it is easy to see why. This isnt supposed to be the 5 best based on stats or ratings, but it is 5 guys i just see getting the job done.

No surprises, only 1 player made the cut from the red, and no other player from that conf came into consideration. feel free to discuss :D

Great work. No doubt my players have disappointed this season. As others have gotten better most of mine have stayed the same with really only Pressley an important player who is improving. Still give another season and Paki and Harris will start to be good. Everything right now is telling me that this season belongs to Rangas or Gladiators.

Even worse I have been away over Christmas so no scrimmage for me, looks like stamina this week. (:
