97-93 loss, but not to worry the second round awaits in a couple weeks time thats when the real games start.
Canada got off to a decent start before falling back 7 and then was able to tie it up at points in the second before falling back again. The third quarter was dominated by the shooting of USAs guards and Canada fell back 14 before making a 4th quarter push and coming up just short. Some of the players were interviewd after the game,
"Barbiroli! What do you have to say about those unnecessary back to back to back fouls in the fourth when we were down 3 with 40 seconds left?"
"No comment."
"Didn't think so."
Safe to say that the team is not to thrilled about their performance and neither is the manager as he was caught on tape having a chat with Girard after the game,
"Why in the world did you play defense with your eyes closed and arms behind you back!?!?"
"This Old Yet Sexy Hippy came up to me before the game and told me it would work best! Didn't it Coach?"
*sigh*
Canada plays Peru next week.
