$350K salary player in Div. V?????

I'm a DIV V team and one of the teams in my league just bought a player that has a salary of $350K per week. Is there any way this team will be able to afford this player for any real amount of time? Or did the team buy this player in an attempt to win the playoffs?

I know it's 4 weeks until the playoffs, and even if he bought this player only for the playoffs, we're talking $1.8M to $2M or more just to get him through the playoffs. I'm not saying this team is doing anything wrong or against the rules, I'm thinking he is just making a bad decision. What is your thoughts? Has Div 5 teams in the past beeen able to survive with players making this kind of money?

By the way, my team and this team is tied for #1, we're both 14-2, but I beat him recently by 33 points, so he's feeling the pressure.

That's about what I figured. I know I've run my team very tight, and I couldn't afford this player. But considering that the team that bought this player is a good team run by a good GM, I'm shocked he has made a move like this. I could almost understand it if he bought the player on Monday and planned to cut him before next Monday, but he bought this player on Sunday night, meaning he has to pay his $350K salary. In short, this team will have $1.2M invested in this player before he even plays a game for his team.

Hopefully, this move will be enough to throw his team off and cause trouble for him heading into the playoffs. He's not the only worry I have in my league, but he's one of only three teams that is a threat to me.

P.S. I'm sure the NT staff from Taiwan is not gonna be happy he got picked up by a D.5 team.

He's been playing awhile. I have no idea how much money he has banked, but more then likely he'll be able to keep him through out the playoffs.

I guess it's possible, but I doubt it, he hasn't been playing long enough to save that kind of money in D.V.

Well if he was smarter he wouldve cut down his roster to about 10-12 players so he can atleast save 40k that way... And I want to see that player get like 80 points 30 rebounds and 20 assists lol, would that be the best game in BB history?

If he was smarter he wouldn't have a $350k salary player on his roster.

The guy has only been playing since the middle of season 15, and definitely does not have the money to keep this guy for more than a week or two. He wont be much of a threat to you or anyone anymore.

Yeah I doubt that he can build up that much money in d5. It took me about a season and a half to get 1.3 mil in d4.

Update: After spending $1.2M on this player already ($800K+ transfer fee, $350+ salary), the team did not even start him or include him in the rotation for tonight's game. So, in short, he's spent $1.2M so far and not gotten a point out of it.

Meanwhile, my team won in record-setting fashion tonight by a score of 118-39. This is the biggest win in my franchise history. And my team's best player was injured 3 minutes into tonight's game and didn't even score a point.
