Hi! What should I do with this player? (23119719) Would you train him? He's got nice inside abilities, but I don't know if it's worth it..I want him to play for our U21.

Letting a rookie play in official matches means letting him face tougher players... maybe he is already a fouler, but you are not helping him! :-)
Let him play in scrimmages only, so he gets the benefits of the training without being fouled out.

Along with what Mitico Cobra said, maybe it is the type of tactics you run. I looked at your games and you run fast paced offenses like Look Inside more than slow paced offenses, so this maybe a factor. Another reason might be that he has that hidden aggressive trait that some players on BB have. So I would recommend first that you play him in scrimmages until he gets to the level of the other players in your league. If that doesn't work, try different tactics. If that doesn't work either, then he may just be aggressive.

Thanks for your posts, all of them very insightful! I will try Low post next time.

He is one of my main trainees, so I don't want to play him in scrimmages because if he fouls out, he can't recuperate lost minutes anymore. But since he fouls out so much (look at my previous private game...), I'm deciding to sell him and instead move to another trainee (Ciro Gobbi). Do you think this is a wise move? Right now I'm training 2 position (RB, 1 on 1) and when I switch to one position (ID, IS) I will have to decide between Gobbi and Adrian. Gobbi is one year older, but has much better secondaries. Here they are:

Adrian Serncar (23119719)
Center
Weekly salary: $ 4 059
Role: rotation player
(BuzzerBeta)

DMI: 50600
Age: 18
Height: 6'11" / 211 cm
Potential: perennial allstar
Game Shape: proficient

Jump Shot: pitiful Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: atrocious Handling: mediocre
Driving: average Passing: atrocious
Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: proficient ↑ Shot Blocking: inept
Stamina: awful Free Throw: awful

Experience: atrocious

Ciro Gobbi (20967275)
Center
Weekly salary: $ 3 221
Role: backup
(BuzzerBeta)

DMI: 33300
Age: 19
Height: 6'9" / 206 cm
Potential: perennial allstar
Game Shape: strong

Jump Shot: awful Jump Range: atrocious
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: strong
Driving: respectable Passing: mediocre ↑
Inside Shot: mediocre Inside Def.: strong
Rebounding: strong ↑ Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: inept

Experience: atrocious

Gobbi had a 4 weeks head start and also had three cross training pops already. He had 11 pops alltogether, while Adrian had 6.

That does it. In today's game ((42313308) I played Patient, so he stays off the ball and to give less posessions to opponent, and 2-3 defense so he can "hide" under the rim. He made 4 fouls in 13 minutes, two of them were flagrant, and he was kicked out of the game. I'm selling him!

Some of these ideas have been mentioned but here is what I think.

His ID is still a bit weak so perhaps better players are causing him to foul. Train ID a few pops and it may help.

His OD is atrocious. Even a Center may need to help on mid range jumpers or longer at times. Atrocious on any skill can often cause a player to play poorly. I avoid having any atrocious skills on players whenever possible. Even 2-3 pops here could make a big difference.

Some players are just aggressive and foul more often which is just bad luck. The fact that he is still young and lacking skills just amplifies this.

I have a 20 year old combo guard that often has the same issue. His skills are pretty good but like 1/3 of his games he will foul out or nearly foul out in 30 minutes or sometimes in the first half. He has been fouling less and less as his OD as gone up this season.
