Ok so I figure Whitebeard might help me out for a few weeks here or there. Thought we may aswell get it underway.

Round 1

Whitebeard vs. Billy Hoyles Boys

Well to start off Whitebeard’s campaign to retain his Fishbowl crown for a third season in a row, they met a tough Billy Hoyles Boys outfit. The BH Boys managed to achieve a higher rating in 4 of the 6 ratings despite being unable to walk away with the victory. The BH Boys were just unable to stand the early onslaught from Whitebeards. Odisseas Massios was a big reason for this shooting a horrible 2-16 in his 27 minutes. A solid start to another FB season for this big bad pirate.

Final Score: Whitebeard vs. Billy Hoyles Boys 94 - 79 (42320148)

3 votes – Whitebeard - Igli Magliacane – 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 blocks, 8-10 FT

2 votes – Billy Hoyles Boys – Lui Shee Chong – 17 points, 17 rebounds, 7-9 FT

1 vote – Whitebeard - Tommaso Rusconi – 13 points, 18 rebounds, 6-9 FT

Viral Infections vs. Monkey Business

This game was never really up for debate with the newly announced GM - Monkeybiz polishing that shiny ‘win game’ button which was not needed in this one. Viral Infections were severely outclassed inside defensively pulling some terrible ratings. But that is to be expected when you suit up a 2k C and 3k PF. The Infections are going to have to dip into their coffers if they want to get a win or two in this tough West division. Whereas a comfortable win for Monkey is just the way they would hope to start the season.

Final Score: Viral Infections vs. Monkey Business 86 - 119 (42320147)

3 votes – Monkey Business - Dimitris Patziaras – 24 points, 23 rebounds, 3 blocks

2 votes – Monkey Business - Marco Manara – 43 points, 3 assists, 2 steals

1 vote – Monkey Business - Shi Deguang – 18 points, 9-13 FG, 16 rebounds

Western Titans vs. Slam !

This match promised a whole lot as a preview to the Div. 2.4 finals series. Slam were fairly convincing in this match comfortably leading by 23 at the half. However a last quarter fade tightened the end result. But too much damage was done for the Titans to challenge. It will be interesting to see if the Titans can fight back when they meet in the playoffs.

Final Score: Western Titans vs. Slam ! 76 - 89 (42320145)

3 votes – Slam! - Alejandro Ascariz – 19 points, 7-12 FG, 11 rebounds, 4 assists

2 votes – Slam! - Paolo Paranaense – 33 points, 11 rebounds, 33 mins

1 vote – Western Titans – Uditi Samdup – 23 points, 8-14 FG, 7-10 FT, 9 rebounds

sorry for the lateness for people waiting for their games.

Baxter Bogans vs. SmeltzTroopers

With the Bogans sitting clear of relegation in the ABBL in 5th, and the Troopers going into Division II.1 playoffs as top seed we were promised a close match. Which is exactly what we got until a dreadful 3rd quarter display from the Troopers ended their chances of starting off the West PL season in the best possible way. The stats suggested it was a tight game throughout with the Bogans just holding onto the ball a little cleaner at times. Likely to be in the 3rd where they outscored the Troopers 26-7. This has to be a little disheartening for the Troopers' players considering they won 3 of the 4 quarters and still lost by double figures. Maybe this promised 300k C will steady the Troopers ship before PO's

Final Score: Baxter Bogans vs. SmeltzTroopers 88 - 76 (42320150)

3 votes - Baxter Bogans - Chang-Kyum Park - 15 points, 5-8 FG, 19 rebounds, 6 OR

2 votes - SmeltzTroopers - Vittorio Lunardi - 21 points, 16 minutes

1 vote - Baxter Bogans - Donats Lopinš - 27 points, 9-14 FT, 5 asts

Gisborne Gladiators vs. All-Sorts

Well this was probably the game of the round in the West, which is a bit of a surprise with the only Div III team in the West in the Gladiators facing the Div II.3 All-Sorts who are comfortably in 3rd in their conference and South PL Finalists in Season 6. Considering the previous games between these teams have resulted in 25+ point blowouts for All-Sorts. The Gladiators relied heavily on their Greek guard, Ftochoyiannos to come up with the goods. However at the other end it was All-Sorts Finnish guard, Uusimäki who led his team to a win over the resilient Gladiators. It will be interesting to see which of the West teams the Gladiators can push to this extent this season.

Final Score: Gisborne Gladiators vs. All-Sorts 105 - 111 (42320149)

3 votes - Gisborne Gladiators - Notis Ftochoyiannos - 36 points, 13-22 FG, 5-9 3FG, 36 minutes

2 votes - All-Sorts - Tuomas Uusimäki - 31 points, 13-27 FG, 6 assists, 44 minutes

1 vote - All-Sorts - Mohd Syamsuri bin Mat Noor - 18 points, 20 rebounds, 7 OR

Lewisham Wombats vs. TEAM LORDY

This game never promised a close affair with the #5 team in Australia the Wombats, facing the mid teir division II.3 Lordy led by their main man and 1 time winner of the South MVP, Ross Underwood. This game was over midway through the 2nd quarter despite Lordy holding on to trail by only 4 at the 1st break. A 30-10 2nd quarter to the Wombats ended this one as a contest very early. The Wombats inside isolation worked a treat with Greek PF, Panagiotopoulos dominating throughout the game.

Final Score: Lewisham Wombats vs. TEAM LORDY 107 - 85 (42320146)

3 votes - Lewisham Wombats - Aggelos Panagiotopoulos - 29 points, 11-13 FG, 7-10 FT, 16 rebounds

2 votes - TEAM LORDY - Ross Underwood - 26 points, 10-17 FG, 9 rebounds

1 vote - Lewisham Wombats - Leslie Gafa - 19 points, 7-9 FG, 20 minutes

Round 2

Baxter Bogans vs. Billy Hoyles Boys
You can't win games with star players only! That's exactly what the Noodles boys have been struggling with after the last two weeks they have been decimated with injuries to their role players. In the end it was a lop sided victory to the Bogans as they dominated the first half (59-37) and leisurely roll through the second half with their subs.

Final score: Baxter Bogans vs. Billy Hoyles Boys 113-92 (42320155)

3 votes - Baxter Bogans - Durk Renaud - 26 points, 4 rebounds
26 points in 28 minutes, could have had more if it weren't for his in game injury.

2 votes - Billy Hoyles Boys - Maciej Kuman - 29 points, 17 rebounds
Tried to keep the team in the game but there wasn't enough support around him. Restricted Castaldo to 3-10 but the Bogans were running an outside offence all night.

1 vote - Baxter Bogans - Zvezdan Ðordević - 18 points, 12 rebounds
Came off the bench playing 26 minutes to provide the fire power that the Bogans needed. An impressive long range display from the big man shooting 3-3 outside the arc.

Lewisham Wombats vs. Western Titans
With the Titans gearing up to challenge for promotion to the ABBL, the Wombats clearly put them back in their place showing them exactly what is required to make it in the big leagues. The Wombats won all four quarters showing no signs of letting loose.

Final score: Lewisham Wombats vs. Western Titans 101 - 72 (42320151)

3 votes - Lewisham Wombats - Aggelos Panagiotopoulos - 21 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists
Aggy had little trouble taking on Filho as he restricted him to 3-12 and 4 turnovers.

2 votes - Lewisham Wombats - Shachaf Kremer - 17 points, 9 rebounds
Kremer hasn't been in Mllama's good books recently but after this game I reckon Mllama might have more faith in him especially for the coming ABBL playoffs. Similar output as Samdup in less than half the time played.

1 vote - Lewisham Wombats - Jackson Goodall - 20 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists
Coming off the bench and played a role in trying to slow down Gaggini. Incredible numbers as Goodall only played 24 minutes, would have had a triple double if he started.

Gisborne Gladiators vs. Monkey Business
Certainly asking for a lot from a division 3 team to beat an ABBL team playing their second playoff series. But we have seen upsets happen before, tonight was not the Gladiators night as they fought valiantly. Similar to the Wombats, the Monkeys won all four quarters without much sweat.

Final score: Gisborne Gladiators vs. Monkey Business 88 - 110 (42320154)

3 votes - Monkey Business - Shi Deguang - 12 points, 22 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 blocks
Impressive game from the big man from China doing it all. Also played a vital role in clamping down the Gladiators big man Cornelius who shot an appalling 2-10.

The 2,1 votes really was a toss up between Nikolov and Patziaras.

2 votes - Monkey Business - Vladimir Nikolov - 30 points, 6 rebounds
Top scorer for the night.

1 vote - Monkey Business - Dimitris Patziaras - 23 points, 18 rebounds, 2 blocks
Solid output as usual. Not much resistance from Terroso.

Viral Infections vs. Slam !
When you have only three non scrub players you know there is a high chance of receiving a spanking as that was the case with the Infections game against Slam. Rarely were the Slam boys under pressure as they demonstrated their class by winning all four quarters with ease.

Final score: Viral Infections vs. Slam ! 91 - 125 (42320152)

3 votes - Slam ! - Paolo Paranaense - 23 points, 16 rebounds
Comfortably doing his thing all night.

2 votes - Slam ! - Alejandro Ascariz - 20 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks
Held Lirtsoyiannis to shooting a below par 9-29 from the field.

1 vote - Slam ! - David Mugione - 20 points, 11 rebounds
Mugione output might not look outstanding but did the damage early on which was consolidated by his teammates.

Miąsik, Elezarriaga and Zacaroli were unlucky as they missed out on the one vote.

SmeltzTroopers vs. All-Sorts
All Sorts knew they were in trouble coming into this match as the majority of the tipsters had SmeltzTroopers to win by a comfortable 15-25 points. But an unexpected purchase made the match even more lopsided for the unlucky All-Sorts who had to contend with one of the all time highest division 2 salaries.

SmeltzTroopers vs. All-Sorts 117 - 80 (42320156)

3 votes - SmeltzTroopers - David Salas - 27 points, 15 rebounds
Move over Smeltz, there's a new sheriff in town! Displayed talent that Smeltz can only imagine.

2 votes - SmeltzTroopers - Ky Smeltz - 22 points, 15 rebounds, 3 blocks
Almost the same output as Salas but needing an extra 20 minutes to do so.

1 vote - SmeltzTroopers - Sandro Traina - 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists
Uusimäki struggled all night as Traina made him earn his shots, scored 3-12.

Whitebeard vs. TEAM LORDY
Another one sided game in the West as the Whitebeards destroyed Team Lordy.

Whitebeard vs. TEAM LORDY 93 - 57 (42320153)

3 votes - Whitebeard - Igli Magliacane - 17 points, 16 rebounds, 2 blocks
Shut down Granger's impact.

2 votes - Whitebeard - Joachim Calzado - 20 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists
In a patient game you need to be able to find your best shooter and Calzado didn't easily allow that as he made life difficult for Team Lordy's point guard Kamleitner.

1 vote - Whitebeard - Tommaso Rusconi - 18 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks
How on earth did Rusconi earn a vote while his opponent scored 39 points and fail to get a mention? Well if it weren't for Rusconi's defence, Underwood would have had an outstanding game. Instead, Underwood shot a woeful 17-52.

Round 3

Whitebeard vs. Lewisham Wombats

Final score: Whitebeard vs. Lewisham Wombats 105 - 88 (42320158)
This match was the clash of the titans with both teams being in the ABBL playoffs this season. The Whitebeards led for majority of the night. Injuries midway through the match for Yalduz and Aggy didn't help the Wombats cause as the Whitebeards overran them in the final quarter.

3 votes - Whitebeard - Tommaso Rusconi - 36 points, 16 rebounds
Rusconi was unstoppable in the fourth when the game was on the line with 18 points and 6 boards.

2 votes - Whitebeard - Joachim Calzado - 15 points, 4 rebounds, 10 assists
Controlling the game flow with ease.

1 vote - Whitebeard - Igli Magliacane - 16 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks
Just got the vote ahead of Goodall. The rebounds and rejections being the difference.

All-Sorts vs. Billy Hoyles Boys

Final score: All-Sorts vs. Billy Hoyles Boys 92 - 108 (42320162)
Coming into this match the Billy Hoyles Boys were 0 from 2 and desperately seeking a victory. With their injury plague behind them, All-Sorts knew they were definitely in all sorts of trouble. No doubt as the Billy Hoyles Boyes attacked hard right from tip off and cemented an early first quarter lead (37-20) which was enough to hold off All-Sorts at bay.

3 votes - Billy Hoyles Boys - Mai Chongzheng - 25 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists
Mendez was given little freedom to play his offensive game as he shot only 6-17 from the field.

2 votes - Billy Hoyles Boys - Mark Edwards - 19 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists
Great all round effort from Mark Edwards after coming back from injury. Also restricted Pizzolato who shot 8-27.

1 vote - All-Sorts - Tuomas Uusimäki - 28 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists
Uzi as they call him back in Finland was one of the few outstanding contributors for the All-Sorts. His direct opponent was the mighty Bergman and that didn't faze him one bit as he showcased his multi-talents during the match.

SmeltzTroopers vs. Monkey Business

Final score: SmeltzTroopers vs. Monkey Business 99 - 78 (42320161)
Could this be the ominous return of the big bad SmeltzTroopers back to the ABBL? The SmeltzTroopers dominated the match as they won all four quarters. The Monkeys struggled to play catch up as the SmeltzTroopers led the whole match right after scoring first basket from winning the tip off.

3 votes - SmeltzTroopers - David Salas - 19 points, 15 rebounds, 2 blocks
Salas has been a major difference since his arrival to the SmeltzTroopers. Gave Boqing a lesson he will never forget.

2 votes - SmeltzTroopers - Ky Smeltz - 26 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks
No longer the fatcat. Playing in tandem with Salas has made the SmeltzTroopers one of the most dangerous front court in all of Australia.

1 vote - SmeltzTroopers - Dominikus Möllerherm - 10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists
Mollerherm played a fantastic shut down role. His coach will be happy with his performance.

Gisborne Gladiators vs. Slam !

Final score: Gisborne Gladiators vs. Slam ! 97 - 119 (42320159)
Slam's unbeaten run continues as they easily accounted for the Gladiators. An early 10 zip run in the first just how much the Slam boys wanted destroy the Gladiators. The Gladiators fought back in the third but Slam put them back in their place in the final quarter.

3 votes - Slam ! - Roger Zacaroli - 16 points, 4 rebounds, 18 assists, 3 steals
You don't often see 18 assists everyday in the BB universe! Direct opponent also shot at 6-16 from the field.

2 votes - Slam ! - Paolo Paranaense - 36 points, 19 rebounds, 3 blocks
Unlucky not to get the 3 votes. Not only was Paolo an unstoppable force in offence, didn't allow an easy basket in defence.

1 vote - Slam ! - Alejandro Ascariz - 22 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists
Restricted Garrie Addison shooting at an appalling 5-17.

Western Titans vs. Viral Infections

Final score: Western Titans vs. Viral Infections 108 - 74 (42320157)
An easy win for the Titans as Naker and his boys are in off season mode.
3 votes - Western Titans - Bento Filho - 44 points, 13 rebounds
In Japan he would be classified as a meal. Luckily Bento is Portuguese and he made mince meat of the Infections instead.

2 votes - Western Titans - Pablo Lobato - 13 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists
Controlling the orange round thing without any worries.

1 vote - Viral Infections - Zenon Miąsik - 21 points, 9 rebounds
Solid game but coughed up the ball 4 times.

Baxter Bogans vs. TEAM LORDY

Final score: Baxter Bogans vs. TEAM LORDY 92 - 80 (42320160)
At the opposite ends of the ladder, the Bogans would have wanted to keep status quo. They did so without too much sweat as they controlled the game for the first three quarters with only Team Lordy letting loose in garbage time.

3 votes - Baxter Bogans - Chang-Kyum Park - 27 points, 16 rebounds
Dominated the game when it mattered. Grabbing a lot of missed shots and putting them back in, had 8 offensive boards.

2 votes - Team Lordy - Ross Underwood - 49 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists
Quite a bit of garbage points from Underwood. Still shooting below 40% which is sub par for any team looking to win especially for the team's main shooter. Otherwise had a fairly good game.

1 vote - Baxter Bogans - Durk Renaud - 23 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists
Another solid game from Durk.
