So let me give you a brief history of my team(28206). I started partway through last season, in D.IV, IV.13 to be precise. All the other teams were way stronger and I got regularly destroyed. The one positive was I did end up the with the #2 pick in the draft, and I drafted the hopeful future of the franchise, a talented 7-footer with nice ability and upside in Herbert Jones (22088501).

After that season I was unsurprisingly demoted and ended up in my current league, V.204, which is an all-bot league with no other human managers. Because of the lack of competition, I went 22-0 this season with ease, and was able to train up Herbert Jones somewhat. Late in the season I also picked up Abraham Florece (22087968) to train alongside him. I've only had Florece for a short time, and he appears to only have received minimal training from his previous owner, so he's not nearly as improved as Jones. But still, he's got even better size and potential so I keep him around. Right now Florece is 7↑/4/3/4/5/1/9↑/7/8/3 and Jones is 8/6↑/4/1/6/3/9/9/8/7. Other than that, my team is exactly what their salaries look like.

So now to the point of this thread: I'm wondering if my team is ready to compete in D.IV at least somewhat, or if I should throw the Finals in order not to promote. Last time it was kind of discouraging to lose badly almost every game, and I really don't want to go through that again. Is that what would happen this time, or would my team be able to hold its own? If I'm not ready, should I forfeit in the Finals in order not to promote?

PERSONALLY, if you can handle one more season in DV, I would sell everyone but the minimum needed to win the league. Strip down to the bone, and make as much money as possible (you SHOULD be able to make 100k a week. Play your A team in the cup, probably making about 150-200k. Then, when in Season 20 you promote to DIV, you should have at least 2 million in the bank. you can buy a very good DIV team for 1 million (3 starters, since you have two already, plus back ups) and up grade your arena. Keep in mind you get a 300k promotion bonus, plus extra attendance.

In fact, I'd even up grade your arena now, just to get it done. YOu probably want it between 6-10 thousand, to be able to make between 100 and 130k. Trust me, I did the same thing as you, but with out the season in DIV. Look at me now, I'm in 2nd place my first season in DIV.

By season 20, your trainees should be in great shape, and ready to compete with DIV bigs (10-35k in salary). good luck!

the only downside to this, is with a record of 22-0, there is a good chance you might promote due to bot cleanup.. not sure how many bots there are in div 4 USA, but i am sure there is a chance....

if that is the case, then look to win the league so you at least get the $300k, as if you promote due to bot cleanup you dont get a promotion $$$ bonus..

in div 4 you will make more money and have more fun, nothing more boring than an all bot league! use the season to train and consolidate, upgrade your arena, and you will make piles more $$$ that way than staying in div 5.

edit : actually you have a decent arena now.. promote and you will get a good attendance boost for first half of next season... all the arrows to me point to winning.
