http://www.buzzerbeater.com/player/24663559/overview.aspx

when i had originally bid on him, he was 18 years old, along with all the draftees. so i checked to make sure he would stay 18 years old, and it didn't show that he played in any games last season, so i assumed he was a draftee. another thing was that it doesn't show when he was drafted.

but... obviously I'm mad because i (thought) i got a trainee for a low price, but since he is 19, i have almost no use for him.I know this probably cant be fixed, but it would be nice if once the draftees are released, the other players age up, so no one else gets screwed like me and loses 125k for a useless player.

Thanks

That´s unfortunate, but you could have seen that he was not a rookie because of his DMI and the missing draft-information.
In addition, given that players stay on the Transfer List for 3 full days, there was no way he could have been drafted on Monday.

Still, a Center of that size can still be trained to his potential cap with ease.

I guess it makes sense, but is there any reason he didn't play in any games last season?

It looks to me like the team that sold him was created late in the season. He could have been on the original roster of that team (therefore no draf-information whatsoever), and if it was created very late there was not much time to give him any games.

What about moving this to its proper place - Bugs forums?

I believe that he is right, and although all of the "excuses", there is no reason for it (the player's age) to be unclear.
A player should have is draft time defined no matter the cause.
Another solution may be, displaying when (on which season) was the last age-update for that player.

Huh? Which of the reasons he could have known better when purchasing the player qualifies as "excuse"?

The only way to "fix" the (non) bug would be changing the order of things happening - Age / Finances before draft, but given that there are a few solid ways to tell whether the "18 year old" is a rookie or not, that would be a big move.

He made a mistake due to lack of clearness.

He could analyze it better, if he would look at other fields, as you have written, but it is just excuses.
It should be clear, and not vague as it is.
It is vague due to the fact that he tried to analyze it the same he does and the way it works works most of the times, and got a wrong conclusion.

Writing near the age value, when was it last updated (or when is the next update supposed to happen), resolves it nice and clean.

And once again...
WHY ISN'T IT MOVED TO THE BUG'S FORUM???

it is clear on the players page where it says 'Player X was pick #X in season XX draft, by team ABC' If the player had already been draft that year, it would have said Seaon 18 draft.

it is unfortunate that the user did not check this information, but it was something that i was checking before trying to buy players. It is very clear to me and other users.

so its no bug, the functionality already exists, if the user made an unfortunate error by not seeing this information, then sorry, that is his fault, not the game's fault.

For me, it could not be any more clear.

He read - this player is 18 YO, and did not played a single game.
He thought that it means something, and others can make that same mistake.
Why not making things clear?
This game is not about tricking the users...

The user wants to know a player's age, is likely to look at... the player's age.
On the real world, the age will include D and M in addition of the Y.
Here it should display when was the last time it was changed.

What wrong will it do by addung the last time the age had been updated?

Yes, it is not a design bug, because it showed what had been true.
But it did not looked at the whole picture when had been designed.
It is like designing a clock with no minutes display.
The time will be right, but just not presice enough...
A user who will look at 11:59 will see 11:00, and could not complain. Or should he?...
