Hey guys, I just had a tactic question: My next game is against a guy will a really good PG, SG, and SF, but his next best player after those three, is a 3k Center with inept game shape.

My next opponents Starting lineup looks like this:

PG: 22k
SG: 28k
SF: 31k
PF: 3k
C: 3k

My question is, since his guards are his three best players and he has absolutely no inside game, would it be a smart idea to play 1-3-1 against him? From what i understand 1-3-1 adds A LOT more outside defensive pressure but then it lowers inside D and rebounding, so I should be okay since my best player is my PF and my center is also decent right?

Another question: His three best players are his PG, SG, and SF but he has played Look Inside every game this season so far, for a strange reason.... Should i not play 1-3-1 if he is playing Look Inside or should i still play 1-3-1 since his best players are all outside players?

What an extreme case, maybe you are right about 1-3-1, maybe it's the best against a team like that. I check his latest game, he did take a lot mid-range shots.

I think if you take care of your offense it shouldn't matter too much on the defense. He can't beat you with three players :)

Well Thank you kind citizen +1 for you.

I plan to play Look Inside against him since his inside players all suck. Its a very strange case though.. The last 3 or 4 games he hasn't even played 5 players, but he's been logging on everyday. Either he's really stupid, or hes preparing for me :O I also hope he doesnt buy a 30k Big man between now and tuesday, cause i looked at his latest transfers and he probably has about 2 million+ bucks in the bank right now...

He's not stupid, not at all. After checking his team history. He's just tanking in a strange way. (OK, maybe a little)

I wouldnt play 1-3-1. Especially if he plays LI. SFs can be very effective in a LI and if you play 1--3-1 he will tear you apart. What I would do is play M2M but LI on offense to exploit his weak interior. Make him pay on offense, instead of defense

From what I understand, look inside uses mostly driving against OD to find scoring opportunities. This is probably why he can run it effectively with only a PG, SG, and SF. I would think it would be advantageous to run a 3-2 or 1-3-1 to counteract the guards driving.

However, Lealster has a valid point that you should be able to make him pay on offense. While his outside defense will be tough to penetrate and score initially, you should dominate the boards and get many second chance points. A fast paced offense like look inside is definitely a good idea. Shot volume will be the key.
