Finally we have dumped the last piece of classic ASP code and built the forums in asp.net. The structure is now easier for us to manage and fix should bugs arise.

We've purposefully designed the forums to fit into the current page layout and dropped the old system of a seperate menu. The look and feel has been adapted to be more like the rest of the BB site and fit more as an integrated piece of the puzzle rather than an added on feature. We also hope to use the technology we now have to make the community experience more fluid than was possible before.

Comments, as always are welcome but we would like you to take your time and have a look around just to get acquainted with the way things work before you let loose your rage :-)

Thanks for playing.

We hope you enjoy the change.

/BB

litle unusaly but like it. can you make more color when we post messages?

vječna dilema, da li je bolje zabiti koš više ili primiti koš manje?

Can you hide the threads with no unread messages?

Can I see the active threads in more than one forum at one time?

1. :-(

2. Hmmm. That's a whole lot more clicking to do.

3. I'm also missing a way of checking for new messages. is that also going back to the sneak peek page?

New messages show up in brackets in you favorite folders.

We don't automatically add a folder to your favorites any more when you visit a forum, because I found that to be annyoing. In HT, I have far too may folders to scroll through as it is.

Also, hiding threads that you have have read is another thing I find frustrating. I find myself clicking more in the old forum system than in the new. It does take a bit of time to get used to this system, but it ultimately saves you time and clicks and endless scrolling over the old system.

Right. But how do I get those numbers to refresh easily without having to go back to the sneak peek page?

That is a definite plus.

Why do you find it frustrating? 99% of the time I don't care about a thread once I've read until/unless someone else adds something to it. It just looks very cluttered to me (as do all the global stickies, can't we have a sepearate transfer/scrimmage forum?) and hard to pick out at a glance what is new and what is languishing.

As my colleague said.

Also, you can click on the name of the folder top left ( in this case BB Global ( English ) ) And the entire page will be refreshed, without clicking on a message or folder.

The reason I don't like hiding them is because I tend to click through all the new stuff, read, browse and then go back and answer. Sometimes I check threads, knowing I won't have time to reply until maybe a couple of hours later. I lose threads easily when they hide. It's probably just more suited to the way I do my forum browsing to have them showing.

We could think about making this optional .. hmm ..
