Before I begin to use my scouting points, I want to make sure I know what I'm doing.

So I take it that my first move would be to do a SCOUTING COMBINE (10 points) and get the height and age of every player.

Since I am going to be training guards, I will eliminate all players 6-5 and above from consideration. Right?

No need to do a GROUP DEMONSTRATION since that is only one and two ball prospects, and I don't want them anyway, right?

After I have done the SCOUTING COMBINE, what should I do the rest of the way? I assume that I'll need to scout several players one time, but this won't give me any real usuable info, correct?

So I'll have to interview the same players just to get to know what his current skills are, and what his potential is?

Any info is appreciated.

the initial order is very rough, so you get basically 19 first visit for just 10 points, i got four 5 Ball player and 5 four ball players with it this draft(that pretty good result but it shows what can happen).

Especially if you draft late or don't have many scouting point i prefer it over the combine. The combine i quite usefull if you have many scouting point and an early pick, since then it is easier to search the best players 18 year old and lot of skill and potential.

PS: i wouldn't invest in second visits(interviews?), for player with less then 4 skill balls. If you draft late, it could be intresting to concentrate first on the one with 4 skill balls, since the chanche is higher that they are still avaible when you draft.

I'm sorry to sound like I need a lesson in BuzzerBeater 101, but I really am having trouble with this subject.

You said above to count the 18 year olds with 2 or less grey balls. Are these grey balls current skill levels, or potential? And are you talking about grey balls before I use my first scouting point?

When I look at the page right now, there are 9 five balls, 10 four balls, 10 three balls, 10 two balls, an 9 one balls. But those really mean nothing, correct? It was my understanding that those five ball players could be the worst in the draft, while those 1 ball players could be the best. Am I understanding that correct?

So I used the Scouting Combine and there are 9 18 year olds who are 6-4 or below.

The first three on the list below are five ball players (all grey balls because I've not done anything at all except Scouting Combine). Does that five ball without scouting any further mean anything? Or are those grey balls all just fake and you have to scout them further to find out anything real about them?

I currently have 6 scouting points remaining, but have plenty of time to get as many as I need to do this right. Should I use a Group Demonstration, or just give all the players below a first and second interview?

The grey balls are for current skills and do mean nothing as u have read. When people say to count the 1 and 2 grey balls it is to decide whether to scout individually or to use the Group Demonstration. The Group Demo costs 10 points and scouts the 1 and 2 balls once. If there was 14 1 and 2 balls u wanted to scout individually it would cost 14 points so the group demo would be better.

If your not interested in taller guys its a waste doing the group demo. It would cost 10 points and only the bottom 3 would be scouted once. Would only cost 3 points to scout the bottom 3 individually.

Ok, now, bare with me while I continue to ask what I'm sure seems like silly questions.

Of the players I mentioned above, what are the chances that those 1 and 2 ball players are studs? What are the chances that those 1 and 2 ball players are better than the three, four, and five ball players I have listed above them?

Thanks very much. I promise, I'm not wasting your time. I'm studing this hard and I'm reading all the threads on this subject that I can find trying to understand this. I have spent $80 on 16 scouting points so far, and plan to spend $10K per week for the rest of this season in hopes of getting one trainee with high enough potential that I can make him a franchise player that will be with me for many years as I make it to higher levels of BB.

I went ahead and used up all of my scouting points to try and understand things better and it helped a lot.

Of the players I mentioned, after I gave them a first scout using one point each, I had one player with 5 balls, three players with four balls, and the others were three and two. I moved the three and twos to the very bottom because I have zero interest in them. I am correct to do that, right?

Of course I moved the five ball to the very top, and the three four balls next. I'm now going to continue to get scouting points each week and use a second scouting (2 points) on those five and four ball players. This is the right thing to do?

Thanks again.

Yeah just do the 4 and 5 balls. Even if 3 and below had high potential his skills would probably be too low to train or sell at a good price. So just use 8 points to scout those 4 players and save the rest.
