Does anyone play and want to help me?

I have started up a team The Chelsea Seagulls and despite having put in a lot of reading I am incredibly frustrated and about ready to quit. So far for training none of my players have improved which is fine but instead I had three down pops. It looks like you are forced to play 4-4-2 to win but have to play 4-3-3 to train properly. Insane! I can't tell how much I make from my arena. Who is getting trined. Who is agood player and who is rubbish.

Help!

My team is The Chelsea Seagulls because there is already a Chelsea Seagulls, doh! The Chelsea Seagulls VI.98 Oceania

Well i have a team, but not exactly play, cause i couldnt quite figure out what i am supposed to do. maybe i should log in and check it out.

Leeroy said he has a team. also matt1986 and tremell are on there i think

Good idea. I know tremell has a team, he would be an ideal person to help I guess. Maybe he or one of the others can help us both out.

Training is on a Friday in Hattrick. You hadn't actually played a game between getting your team and the first training update, hence no players will have popped.

Training is a little slower than in BB, you can expect a skill pop around every 3 - 4 weeks at lower skill levels, then 4 - 8 weeks as you progress up to higher levels.

Your formation choice will be dictated by whatever skill you decide to train, to maximise the number of trainees. Each formation has its strengths and weaknesses, no formation is necessarily better or worse than another, it really just depends on what players you have and what your opponent is like.

Ah so you are the mysterious mattlamb. The thing is it tells me that my guys are brilliant at 4-4-2 but suck at 4-3-3 yet to train strikers I have to run a 4-3-3.

From my recollection (and I haven't played in 3 years, so its a bit hazy), you slowly gain ability in a formation as you play it. So stick with the 4-3-3 and you'll get better. Teams are always good at 4-4-2 by default.

Training is alot slower than in buzzerbeater to, think it takes around 8+ weeks to get a pop.

Really crazy slow. BB is slow, imagine seven weeks in a row with no pop being normal. Insane!

Back when I played 3-5-2 was the only way to win.

Also formed the first organised voting bloc in the game and got our guys elected. hehe.

Well doesn't your formation depend on your trainees? You tend to try maximise players in your training positions so if you are training midfielders, it would make sense to play 5 midfielders to maximise training

Yes, back when I played the GE was considered broken by the playerbase.

Just as LI is considered the norm here, 3-5-2 was the strategy there with an offensive minded coach.

It got to the point that the ht team started making changes to how def and off mind coach affected your team. 90% of the game played 3-5-2 with middling defenders and a very good keeper/strikers, was all about possessions as chances were capped at 10 attempts on goal per game. GE was probably rewritten in the time since.

This is many, many years ago. 2002 or so I think? I think Dire played back then, not sure if he still does... Pre character portraits etc. (although they brought that in as supporter only while I played).
