There’s nothing like a good basketball game to get the blood flowing, and that’s what we had today between our 8th ranked U.S team and the 13th ranked Uruguay team. In the first minute Alton Johnson picked up one of his four fouls in the first quarter and took out Uruguay’s starting SF. Even with one starter out they hung tough and at the end of one it was all tied up 27-27. In the second not much changed AJ picked up his 5th foul and it was still a closely contested game heading into halftime at 45-48 Uruguay was up. Going into the third something had to give. That’s when AJ and Nix took over for the U.S. outscoring Uruguay by 12 points in the 3rd. In the 4th everyone held their breath as Uruguay cut the lead down to six. With little time left Uruguay tried to mount a rally but couldn’t pull it off. The U.S. pulled it out 110-96 and got the much needed victory.
After the game I was able to interview the two stars of the game Alton Johnson and Jamie Nix.
PublicEnemy: Monster game out there Nix 20 points, 7 Assists, 5 Rebounds, 2 Steals, and no turnovers. How did you do it?
Nix: Thanks P.E. I just put the rock in the net and dished out some dimes you know man, my shot was so wet…
PublicEnemy: uhhh ok…what were you thinking as you went out there and performed so well?
Nix: I was thinking about my purty little baby mama I got back at my crib….
PublicEnemy: Well… that’s interesting I hope everything goes well with her..
PublicEnemy: Hey AJ can I have a moment? How did you manage to play with 5 fouls for that long?
AJ: Well see the secret is slipping a roofie in the refs drink at halftime and then I got Tim Donaghy to come in and help me.
PublicEnemy: Oh I see spoken like a true star… How do you like playing for your current owner jfarb?
AJ: Well I know he has a lot riding on me so I will try to not screw him like Logsdon did…
PublicEnemy: Well Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-.... That's all, folks." Hope to see you next week when the U.S.A. squad takes on Brasil at 5:00 P.M Central time.
