Ok, so my team, the Mountain Eagles is going to be 4th this season, probably don't have a chance to win against the # 1 seed. Just started (beginning) on this website 1 and a half month ago. SO I'm doing well, got the right players, and suck at the draft, and going to be on a 9-2 record over in my half season. I do 28k in revenue and use 0$ in the draft because I need to make $$$. I got probably the 8th or 9th pick in the draft and hopefully will get a good player. Ok, so how will I do next season? I know that the Risers should win it all. And atlanta panthers will hopefully do some bot cleanup. If the atlanta panthers and Risers are out of here next season, I'll probably be able to dominate. How can or could I do? Should I improve?

PS. I'm NOT selling any players that can do something on the court. (contribute) oh, and Ruiz is on my team because he'll push me pass any good team that comes in my way.

How can you do? Next season you could easily have home court advantage (meaning the #1 or #2 seed) for the playoffs and have a... okayish chance to promote. Just a few things i notice...

1. I would stop playing the tactic push the ball. In my opinion and in many other managers opinion it's not a very efficient tactic and is probably why you turn the ball over so much. If you had played a different tactic for about 2 or 3 of your games instead of push the ball i think you could have won them.

2. Your inside game is okay.. but i would try to add one more big center who can rebound and defend like crazy because your inside D and rebounding seem to be lacking in ratings. Also you'll never make it in IV without a solid inside game.

3. I would simply spend some more money on your arena to build it up so you can start to afford to scout players. You may not want to use any of your scouting points next season because you will have a 14th-16th pick but in IV when you do promote it could be very useful.

Other then that you seem to be doing a fine job sir ;) I hope this helped

Don't worry, I got Coleman training...... He should be able to train well if he don't have more injuries. Oh, in my last games (against suckish teams) I was playing PTB. Now I'm going to practice for atlanta panthers to make it a little competitive. Probably LI Look Inside. Hopefully that'll keep them occupied. And keep my defficet from less than 20.

PS I only do PTB cause I like to rack the score up SCORING KIND OF GUY, but sometimes also like D. Especially in close games is when you need the D to come.

PPS I only lost two. 1 against the 2nd best team in the league and 1 with the 3rd best (3rd best team is now someone else.....heard they're new and probably only like the game cause the other team before them gave em a nice record.
PPPS going on 9-2 here. And probably 8th to 9th pick in the draft. I can't believe I did this good considering I had a trashed 3-8 team when I started this game/website. Talk about turnarounds!:) (oh, and sorry about my crazy Rocket-Rants- hopefully next year)

I didn't delve too deep into anything like E.B.W did, I just peeked a little at your roster but I would suggest looking for younger players. You have way too many in the 30's, which all skills begin to decline at 32-33. Three or four of your players are going to be at those ages next season so I don't really see them doing that well 2-3 seasons in.

I know you say you won't sell them but honestly it seems like you're trying to rush into another league. Just get some young talent and start to build franchise players while expanding your arena to increase profits.

Always remember it's the turtle that wins the race and not the rabbit. (:

Best way to promote (not the shortest!):

Buy 2 18y olds with Perennial Allstar potential for 50-70k each. Both should be either guards or centers
Train them whole next season and invest in draft while expanding your arena
Next season try to promote with now 19y olds, who can play along some cheap veterans. In the meantime, try to snag a great player from your draft
If you don't succeed in S21, try again S22. Your two trainees will be so good that you can't miss the promotion

With this way, you are prepared for D.IV. I've seen some teams doing this error, investing in old players - cheap to buy but expensive to maintain. They promote in their first complete season but when they do, they face these problems in their new league:

- they are barely competitive, if at all, so they are probably facing demotion or stagnation for one more season as their team isn't progressing with trainees (they don't have any)

- their arena is too small because their money's been tied into veteran's salaries and they couldn't expand it, so they lose money by not having enough space for everyone who want to pay tickets and see your matches

- they have no players for future - when their veterans get too old and start dropping in skills, they have to sell them for cheap.

I've stopped answering questions like that because 1., people often don't listen to your advice although the advice is good, and 2. I don't like to tell people how they should play because choosing a path for yourself is more fun.

That's why I offer you only advice on how to avoid some mistakes from other teams and not how you should play. Good luck!

Ok, got it. So I'll may see what's going to happen in offseason Processing. If my league destroyer is back in here (atlanta panthers or Risers) I'll fire ALL except 1 old guy. I'll keep the others, then will sell the old, but still profitable players and build talent. For next season. Get two or three depending on my looks-like-sucky-draft( got bad luck at scouting; got only 1 or 2 good players out of 48:(
SO I'll probably HAVE to BUY my talent depending on the draft; doesn't look too good. I'll train them to be stars and Next Season I'll dominate. PS I'll also try to win as many cup games as I can to get $$$.

That sounds more like a plan. I have one player over the age of 30 and I'm really mad. Still looking for a decent player to take his spot.

Also just in case you want proof that what we're telling you is actually worth it you can look at my team as an example. I started late in Season 17 making bad buys on players till Season 18. I found solid 18 year old and 19 year old players to build up and they are coming along great. Djibo Ball, Ali Betrouni and my new trainee is Mohd Fareed bin Sulong. All great bigmen prospects. I even managed to get one on the U21 NT. So just stick to training them right and you'll be in my position in no time. (Close to promoting with a good foundation for a team)
