I'm sure this has been discussed many times in the past, but is Base Offense viable?
I mean, if you've got a very balanced team, don't feel the need to exploit one specific matchup with Patient, don't want to rush your shots with PTB or RnG, would rather not be inside (LI, LP) or outside focused (Mo, Pr), isn't Base Offense the way to go?

It's nothing fancy, but if your team is right for it (no glaring weaknesses or specific superstars in one position), shouldn't it get the job done best?

I'm curious as to everyone's experience with it.

Well yeah if you're going to eliminate all the other options like that, than this is the only one left.
Its good for a well balanced team, but most people dont use it because it is easier to just make a team focused on one thing. It will be a good challenge and experience to try and make a well balanced team like that and become very successful.

I used to run Motion when I first started and during most of my first season in D.IV but I've shaped my roster to make it more balanced, with an emphasis on defense and it's worked out very well for me.

Before my previous 2 (recent) purchases, I didn't have a go-to scorer on any given night, it's always been more of a team effort with 4 or 5 guys scoring in double digits, etc.

I usually run Base Offense, and it does ok for me. Sometimes though it does play kind of like patient if you have a superior player in the lineup and they will try to take over and do all the scoring.

Base offense tries to find best match up advantage. So if you have all 30k starters and your opponent has pg, sg, sf and pf at 30k and center at 5k, then base offense will try to exploit mismatch at the center position and it will act almost as patient. But in comparison to base, patient will use that mismatch much much more then base offense will.

i played sometimes in the PL, it don't work well at least for me but there wasn't guards going off:


(45455777) - PF best scorer. PG most shot but not really an unusual amount.

(45455789) - C best scorer, the PF with the most shots

(45455813) - PF best scorer with most shots

(45455821) - sg best scorer most shot a C.

But overall no game with a one man show like must of the patient matches, but overall a weak offensiv output but quite balanced scoring.

i would say more besides the not having the high OD and my PG, my team isn't that exclusiv at least it should be nmore normal then a bot lineup.

you are not really considering allstar game as standard? Also most allstar games don't have that behaviour, so that with that argumentation i would say that base offense is balanced since it behave like that with a modified engine in the allstar game.(with high OD player like in my PL ;))

Edit: i checked also the bot claim, of you at least the 5 bot vs bot matches haven't those guard going off and more big guys at top scorers. Generell high scoring, but hey they reflect the skill in game perfectly.
