here is my last scrimmage-(45901950)
in this game my PG starter took 13 shots and scored 19 points and the backup scored 2 points in 4 shots so combining them we get 21 points in 17 shots but still the matchup ratings for PG shows that they would have scored roughly 91 points per 100 shots.and my SF starter took 17 shots abd scored 14 points and the backup took 8 shots and scored 10 points so combining them we get 24 points in 25 shots but still the matchup rating for SF shows that they would have scored roughly 102 points per 100 shots....
i mean how did that happen.the pg should have had better matchup ratings.

Matchup ratings are what your players are expected to do with an average of 100 shots in that particular matchup/game. You don't just take the actual results and pro-rate them to 100.

In this case, your PGs were much hotter over the 17 shots they took than they would have normally been against that team.

oh so this means that while calculating the matchup ratings the offense of the offender is pitted against the defense of the defender and then some calculations are done to calculate the expected performances of the players
am i right???

As far as I understand it, that's basically right. The ratings are what you would expect to happen on average. The actual results will vary.
