Is there an advantage to having a few low salary players on your roster even if you don't play them? because i see teams with their players that they're paying 10k+ for, then i see them with a few guys under like 3K. maybe they're trainee's i don't really remember because i haven't looked at a lot of teams lately, but is it a good idea to have a few low salary guys that don't even play?

I like to keep home drafted guys like that for scrimmage meat. Sure, you could guy the 1K guys and fire them, but I prefer to have a known quantity, whose GS can be better than some scrub off the TL, and whose foul tendency is known.

I like to keep two of them. I do like keep my cheap draftees that have no transfer value so whatever sentimental value my fan get from seeing them on the court is bonus. (Plus it makes me feel better about myself, thinking that my draft wasn't completely useless. But they are only there so that the starters and main backups maintain gameshape. I could care less about the scrubs gameshape. They are also useful for games that you know you have no chance in winning, sometimes I play them so that my starters don't get injured. (Shhhhh, but don't tell them that. It will hurt their feelings).
