I just won the bid for a player on the free agent market, after some careful planning to fit one into my weekly budget. His weekly salary was slated to be 49k or so, which was a little pricy, but doable.

The problem arose, when after I spent my life savings(lol) on him, and once he was on my team, the weekly salary was actually 136k per week!!!!

What kind of mess is that? I can't sell him back and hope to even break even on my money, and I'm going to be bleeding money unless I pretty much fire everyone from my team.

I don't mind huge contracts, but the fact that it was advertised as something substantially lower is kind of BS.

Thoughts? Was this intentional, or an error?

The salaries don't get adjusted until last-ish in the off-season processing.

the 49k salary on the guy was his salary before all of last season's trainings and pops he received.
If his stats seem to be truly amazing at his price, and you're buying around this time, its because someone is trying to unload him, before they can't afford them.

Similarly with older players... the salaries can go down because they are already dropping in stats. Its a risk you take either way, and just something to keep in mind at times of year when you buy on the TL.

the Salary..... don't rely on Salary when looking on TL. Focus on their actual skill levels, that will give you more of an idea of what their salary *should* be.

When I sold him his salary was 6026. But where his skills were.... he was clearly not a 6k player, guy who bought him knew it, or I'm assuming he wouldn't have wanted the guy so bad.

Whoaaa!! you just bought a U21 stud! Make sure if your keeping him to manage his GS well and if your not going to keep him sell him as soon as possible, don't quit the game without giving him away, he is important to Americas U21 team.
