Hey guys,

Last year my team had a fairly decent shooting percentage playing the push the ball offence, but now that we have been promoted into div 3 the team fg% and plumpted massively. Just wondering if using patient instead of push the ball would result in higher FG%? Or if there are any other tactical ways i can get my FG% up?

Your next opponent has used 2-3 zone in every game so far and will have awful (low) or (med) OD if he uses it again. Patient could work as its only function is to exploit individual mismatches on the perimeter, but it's very unreliable unless a mismatch is absolute. I don't know how it'd react here. An offence that's outside-based or one that utilizes more ball-movement could also work if your team can effectively run them.

I faced a similar drop in FG% when promoting to D.III, last season.
Not a surprise, as stronger defense is clearly the mark of stronger divisions. Also there are almost no bots and overall it's much more competitive, with very fex easy games.

IMHO Patient will only compound the damage, unless you have the very specific skilsl required.
the defensive values of all players increase on average. So it's harder to find weak spot in the opposing defense. And what could have been a open shot in D.IV is not open any more.

It's hard to compete for offense the year you promote. I suggest you boost your defense to stay in league, and patiently built your offense over several seasons, because offense is much more expensive.

I'm seeing the same thing. After starting last season in an all bot Div V, my FG% was kind of ridiculously high. Human managers did end up joining the league, but they were just starting out so didn't do much to slow down my shooting. Now, in Div IV, I'm struggling to keep my FG% above 40. Luckily, I've been able to eke out some ugly wins, but my stats are certainly not pretty.

Experience could also be a factor. In higher division their is usually more emphasis on Experience.

Your players might have lower quality shots because of the overall increase in defensive value, and they may make poorer decisions because a lack of Experience.

my words may look ordinary but some new users think that slower pace gives better percentage on default because slower pace searches for better opportunities..

Slower pace does mean fewer bad shots, generally. It also means fewer good shots.
