Is there a cap on how many courtside seats and lower tier seats you can have in your arena? I know there is for the box seats - 50 is the max, but what about for the others?

if 10k is indeed the limit for courtside seats very few clubs are pushing this limit. since it is apparently common knowledge that 20k to 21k is about the limit for attendance most top clubs are instead building around 3k courtside and 17k bleachers

since courtside seats command higher prices than bleachers and are also more dependable to fill the only reason I can think of for this pattern is that bleacher seats are much cheaper to build than courtside seats (200 per seat v 700 per seat)

looking up the arena of your div 2 team you have already built 15k bleachers and 5k lower tier and so are at at the practical seating limit of 20k+. nonetheless your arena would generate more income per game if the lower tier prices could brought closer to the lower tier min of 18. extrapolating from the charts I have seen that means around 6400 seats in lower tier (adding 1400). there is no need to bring lower tier from 6400 up to 10k until you reach div 1

usa has website with a tab called "attendance helper". the charts at this website do not indicate if the teams tabulated are just usa or the entire world, but the usa is a large sample at any rate

you could use those extra lower tier seats to make extra gate revenue now before you promote, the only question is how soon the money spent would be paid back in higher profits. unfortunately the 5k seats beyond 10k in the bleachers will start to be transferred to the lower tier the more lower tier filled seats you fill (beyond 5k) at the "correct"/optimal price (up to 10k lower tier seats, up to 5k transferred tickets from the bleachers)

the usa charts calculate the optimal price (using curve fitting) even to the point where sections that size have not been built (using extrapolation). in all cases the gate is bigger the lower the section price (provided it matches the optimal/curve fitted price). the only limitation being the largest allowed size for a section (box 50, court 500, lower 10k) or the 20k total attendance practical limit (which implies a max of 10k bleachers for div 5 to div 1). since apparently there are few arenas with more than 4k lower the usa chart for lower does not go above 4k (even though 10k is the max for lower tier seats)

in lower divisions in some cases the optimal price falls below the min ticket price for that section. in those cases obviously the max section size is not what is the most desirable (unless building for the future to enter a higher division)
