Alright well, needed some input on a university in the US and figured where better to go then the BB USA forums right? ;)

Anyways backstory time!
My girlfriend graduates at the end of the month. *Yay!* She is quite the brilliant student with the oppurtunity to go universities such as Stanford, Yale, McGill, UofA(Alberta not Alburquerque or whatever or Alabama or Arkansas or Alaska :P ), UVic, CuC and Avondale. Oh and Princeton! She is very indecisive and her mind just did a complete U-turn from Business Lawyer to a NeuroSurgeon. Sooooooo... She wants to attend either Avondale(in Australia) or CuC(in Lacombe,Alberta) for the simple reason that they both have very high acceptance rates into Loma Linda her dream med school.

Now for my question:
I just wanted to ask if anyone knows whether or not Loma Linda lives up to the hype of being one of the best med schools(her words) in NA? What the area is like, the univeristy in general. Also if anyone has gone the neurosurgeon path(or knows someone who has), if you could give any tips or tricks and an opinion on whether or not the 15 years of schooling is worth it in the end. I know im your hated friend from down south, but I figured you could all forget that for just this once ;)

Anyways, any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Edit in:
To clarify it is;
4 years for an undergrad in medicine(3 if she goes to Avondale)
4 years at med school at Loma Linda(assuming she gets in)
6 years residency program specializing and such I believe.

Edit #2: It is Loma Linda

FINAL EDIT: It is Loma Linda

My best friend, and the best man at my wedding, His wife is a neuromolecular biology PhD student at Ohio State University, which... has one of the better medical programs in the USA, particularly in that field. She complains regularly of when school will be over, (going at it since Under Graduate in 2002-03 school year). She's racked up a good amount of debt, that if not for her Husband working for the Department of Justice at 80k a year, would be VERY problematic, and they still have a month or 2 where they are paycheck to paycheck. (semester starts where books and etc.)

I have not heard of Lago Linda but I pretty much decided pre-med in 2003, from Biochemistry that I didn't want t pursue that path myself. I can safely tell you, that Stanford, Yale, Princeton, not great medical programs... As you would think based on the school's prestige.

In the end the schooling will be worth it, as when she finishes she looks to make ....easily 500K+ every year until she retires from practical stuff in her 60s-70s, but then she can still do research, and teach at universities until senile/death.

But if she's wishy-washy in terms of indecisiveness... it is something that one has to be FULLY committed too.

Wow, the list of schools you provided is very impressive. It looks like you chose a good woman bballin ;)

Unfortunately I know nothing about NeuroSurgeons or Lago Linda, so this message can basically be regarded as pointless.

I wish you two the best of luck though!

You do realize that most members of the USA forums are either under 15 or have the maturity of someone who's under 15, right? haha, this probably isn't the greatest place to ask this question...
