I'm looking for some advice on how to consolidate my position and promote from my division this season. I've had three nearly seasons, getting beat in the playoff finals each year.

I currently have 630k and I'm making 140k per week so I should have a decent war chest by the time the playoffs come around.

How should I utilise this money to give me the best chance of promoting?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

I'd invest in some monsters shortly before deadline and get out of there if you have a decent chance, even if you end up struggling a bit next season you would have a 3/4 chance of relegating to a league that isn't II:1 and bouncing straight back.

The size of the Scottish league and the way new teams are allocated to divisions means that II:1 is going to be ridiculously hard to get out of compared to the other II leagues.

Thank you very much for the quick reply.

I feel, looking at my roster, that the glaringly obvious weakness for my team is inside. Ng Yu Zo, who I play at PF, is probably my most effective scorer in my team as he has strong secondaries but his defence lacks slightly. My SG is also an effective scorer.

I don't have any stand out players just now so I have been playing a balanced offence to allow both of these guys to get stuck in.

Do you think buying an inside beast with good secondaries just before the playoffs would be the best idea and play an inside based offence to utilise Ng Yu Zo's scoring ability alongside the new dominant C? My problem with this idea is my outside guys are very much perimeter players, they all lack inside shot.

The other idea I am considering is splitting the money between two players and buying an inside defensive beast and an out and out scorer to play SG. I could pick up a one dimensional salary beast (between 100k - 180k) inside for relatively cheap which should leave me enough to get a SG in the 60k - 80k salary range.

Both options will give me a strong team with no defensive weaknesses as I try and make sure that all my back up players have good defensive skills. Which of these strategies do you think would be the best idea?

And regarding a PR manager, if I go for one with the speciality that helps against home court advantage, does the advantage gained justify his salary?

I also noticed that your main players have average-respectable game shape. You need to manage your minutes better if you want a good shot to win it all.
