Hi, I'm kinda new to BB, but i wanted to bid on a young 18 yr old point guards to train up. The first one I came across was a 6'11" point guard with perennial allstar potential and 18 yo. Are PG's ever really that tall and will he give me better or worse results as a point guard for training and playing?

That "point guard" is really a center. sometimes they list positions funny. PG is supposed to be 6'1'' and lower, shorter the better. Although it's hard to find 5'11'' and smaller PGs cause those kind of PGs only end up in created teams, but you can try and buy a 6'1'' PG cause they train faster. Here is my criteria for height.

PG= 6'1'' and lower, the smaller the better
SG=6'2''-6'4'' they like to shoot and play defense, also drive to the basket.
SF=6'5''-6'8''
6'5'' and 6'6''= guard oriented SF
6'7'' and 6'8''=Big oriented SF
PF=6'8''-6'11''
C=6'10'' and higher, the taller the better.

So you may wanna find a guard in that 6'1'' and lower range

On the other hand, if the price is right, u should go for it, it doesn't really matter, unless u want a PG and thats it. They list positions funny for 18yos and a 6'11" PG if trained as a PF or C, his listed position will change. Also, if he is tall, really what matters for him to be a C or PF is to train the "right skills" for a big.

My main trainee is 6'6" and was listed originally as a PF, but I knew he wasnt tall enough. Ive been training him as a PG to get his outside skills up and later will train him as a C to get the inside skills, to make him a SF. After a few weeks of training he went from listed PF to SF... Their original position doesnt matter too much...
