If a player is trained at a different position than what he originally is listed as, does his training speed slow down? for instance, if a player is listed as a center and you're training him to play power forward, how does this affect training, if at all? same question/answer can be applied for actual playing position. so, if you're trying to play a center at power forward, does this change performance of said player?

Statistics will obviously change, but training speed won't be affected unless your training a PF/C as a PG/SG.

Training speed is only affected by his height not by his listed position. A shorter guy will train guard skills faster and a tall guy will train inside skills faster. There performance is based on there current skills though.

I'm going to build off of this if you guys don't mind.

I have a SF I really want to train without doing 3 position training. Is the only effective way to improve him... by giving him minutes in other positions throughout the week?

Yes. This is the reason why SFs are hard to train. Not because it's difficult conceptually, but rather because it's tricky to find a way to win league games while still training guys out of position.

Still, the rarity of SFs means that if you can train your own, you'll have a mismatch and your team can gain a nice competitive advantage over other clubs with the same total salary space.

RTFM ("Read the fucking manual"). The guide says by the way that age and height influence training speed, nothing else.

And for the performance... what do you think? Let's say you have a PF with JS 9 and a C with JS 1. And then you put your C to play at the PF spot. Do you think his performance will suffer? Who uses more that JS skill PF or C? That's just an example. And how about if you put your PF at C spot? Think logically and you'll get answers...

Yes. Aim for 1 position training if possible.

Yeah exactly if you train a bigman at a guard position it will affect training speed because shorter guys play guard not taller ones. So I said height affects training speed, I just didn't say it directly.

If my SF plays in games as a SF, do those minutes carry over into another position? For example

35 min in one game
35 in another
10 in scrimmage as PF.......is that enough for the training. Or does that only count as 10 minutes total?

Am I making sense in this post?

If you are only training the PF position, the minutes at SF will not count.
