The more I play this game, the less I understand. Is this possible? Maybe I'm getting dumb.

The match in question is this: (48762645)

I'm playing Look inside with PF Navršnik and C Froget. Navršnik is offensively much better than Froget.

Navršnik: IS 16, HA 7, DR 7, JS 8, PA 5
Froget: IS 12, HA 3, DR 5, JS 7, PA 7

Player who was Navršnik's defender was a SG/SF type of player with: OD 10, ID 8
Player who was Froget's defender was a true C with ID 15

Navršnik took 9 shots, Froget took 17.

I have three possible explanations on why Froget took much more shots than Navršnik despite having a much worse matchup:

Froget had Proficient GS and Navršnik Strong
Froget's defender fouled him a lot, so maybe GE wanted to continue this trend until Froget's defender would foul out because he was a better inside player than Navršnik's PF
GE feared Navršnik's defender will exploit his high OD to force Navršnik to turn the ball over

Other than that, I really don't know. Navršnik shot 6-9 and Froget 8-13. Navršnik didn't get once to the FT line while Froget did 8 times. 2 assist to Froget were made by Navršnik himself! + Froget had better passing, so he was in better position to pass, right?

Is an ID 8 defender really so scary for an IS 16 guy?

Next game ((46511352)): Navršnik takes a lot more shots than the C (as he should) and they both have great matchups (they are both guarded by scrubs).

If anyone has any idea why Navršnik made less shots than Froget in first match, let me know. Thanks.

It looks like you covered almost every base in your initial post but maybe you just need to think outside the box for a second. How does the GE chose the player to receive assists in matches on LI oriented offenses? Is it there driving ability to get open? Is it their defenders inability to guard the drive? Is it completely random? Does it rely on the shot distribution precent?

I'd like to think the only real possible explanation though is the fact that your C was only assisted on most of his shots while your PF wasn't.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the advice! I was trying to think outside the box and it worked, as I found the answer.

Froget was taking so many shots because the defending player, Vincent Debruyne, is foul-prone. He commits 3.1 fouls per 36.1 minutes, which is quite a lot, fouled out twice this season and finished games with 4 or 5 fouls on several occasions. So GE purposely fed Froget with the ball so Debruyne could fould out. I really didn't see that coming, though I could think Navršnik with IS 16 could foul out Rosenthal with ID 8, but to be honest, Debruyne was a much scarier interior presence than Rosenthal and GE chose right.

Thanks again!

overall the difference is not that big, that it can just be a random appearance. That froget was jsut a bit more lucky, in getting chanches. Since the chanches they took was on a similiar level.

Fouling also reduce the defence of the player, i think the ge is didn't look to let people foul out.

Also in my expereince ID at least alone don't make a big difference

Navrisk scrub whas better, his shot was way better then the rest.

I don't know what happened when you copied your number, but it reads: "Narvšnik took 9 shots, Froget took 17" and not 13. That's almost twice as much.

i though i use the number of your linked game + you wrote 13 yourself later so i believed in a typo on your side which i corrected to put it in a meaningful context.

Yes, it was 13 shots, but four of these were fouled, so 17 total. Maybe I should write "shot attempts".
