there is a usa national website that tabulates and recommends ticket prices for seats in an arena

based upon the numbers in those charts the payback for building seats increases dramatically once a team leaves division 5 (as long as the "correct" ticket price is used). so the obvious question is whether or not arena seats continue to cost the same to add in these upper tiers as they do in div 5 (16k box, 2k court, 700 lower, 200 bleacher). the help file is silent on this matter

Hi there!

Price is exactly the same in upper divisions

well that means someone lucky enough to start in div 4 or higher is a leg up on someone starting in div 5

not only higher tv revenue each week, but faster payback on all four arena sections

there are no limits to building lower tier or bleacher seats? in that case I would expect to see 52k seat arenas in div 2 and 104k arenas in div 1 (these sizes are an extrapolation of pushing number of seats to the point of the min price in each section is the "correct"/optimal price)

in this case it's useful to note that there is a soft cap on attendance. getting above 20K attendance is possible, but very difficult. And it requires building more than 20K seats.

the data on the charts at the usa website stop around 22 to 23k total attendance for div 2 and div 1. that is why 52k seats for div 2 and 104k seats for div 1 is an extrapolation. the charts are not labeled regarding whether the attendance is just for usa teams or for all teams

without these "soft caps" of around 20k attendance built out arenas in div 2/1 would be generating at least 50% more profit (by pushing "correct"/optimal seat prices down to 18 min in lower and 5 min in bleachers)
