I am new to this game and I really have a lot of questions on this game. I want to amplify my knowledge on managing sports team. I want to be more focused on making the right decisions with my salary and how to make my players become better and how to pick up players that are worth it.

Well sounds like you have the right desires, now to make them come to fruition. And to help you accomplish that I am telling you to do exactly as SK says below.

ohhh well Big Dogs knows stuff and he's D4. don't worry Jack we'll get thhere soon enough....

@the new guy: Listen to SK. After that go to the club diries section where you could staet your own diary and actually reply in other diries.

It also let's you keep track of your training too and the vet manager can help out a lot.

PS: BUILD YOUR ARENA. Build a lot of Lower Tier Seats (LT) They'll help you out in the future. also while building lower tier, mix it up with some Courtside seats and luxruy boxes. use this 300k already to expand as much as you can....I suggest this:

Bleachers: 100 seat build

Lower Tier: 100 seat expansion

Courtside : 20-25 seat expansion

Luxury Boxes: any cash you have let to build.

I suggest you wait til monday (in 2 days) to start building since BB Gives you a 50k for the first 4 weeks of existence to get on your feet.

Arena will bring the most income in the game. and usually LT and CS and LB (Lower Tier, COurtside, luxury boxes) will give you the more dough, but don't leave out the bleachers! balanced expansions work in BB.

PPS: Hope you stay active here on the forums! it's really fun!

Welcome to the game.

I just looked at your roster and you got a nice looking pull to start off with.

John Thorton and Everett Kurtz are definite keepers. I would start a training plan for those two guys and throw Aquilera in as your third trainee.

Start playing each of these games at PG an entire game (48 mins- the game manual explains how to do this) and train Pressure the first few weeks until you get comfortable setting up line ups and figure out what you want these guys to be for the future.

E.Kurtz might be a SF or G prospect for the NT in the future if trained well. I think building a NT SF would be a great endeavor... they seem frustrating but they can have manageable salaries and a ton of skills and are very rare because of this. But you'd have to take to an NT scout about all that.

I'd suggest cutting your roster down to between 11-13 players today so you don't have to pay the extra salary tomorrow morning (it's not a bunch but every dollar counts).

When you get ready to find supplementary players you would probably be looking for players you aren't training so a good scoring SG/SF, a couple of bigs to anchor the middle... and you don't want anyone with excessive salary... i have a 20k limit in D5 myself as I have research and that's around where it seem to be a big dip in the returns for those player... and extra 10k a week tends to get you about a .5 rating push.

But for now it would be best to just run with your 11-13 Americans at least until the all star break... this is because the market will start filling with low cost veterans you could pick up to fit in with your squad. Some will be overpriced but this game is all about patience, you'll find a couple of good players then for well below the market price.

Alright I'm done lecturing... and again welcome to the game and get that 6'6" MVP looked at for the NT.

some tips to help you:
1. manage game shape well
2. pick an offense and focus on acquiring players for that offense
3. decide if you want to sell your 18 yr mvp for a lot of money and use the money to buy cheap, effective players; or train him and the 18 year old perennial allstar - but you will need to buy a level 4 trainer (preferably with fitness specialty)
4. read rules on training - every minute to 48 minute and every week counts

good luck and most importantly, win or lose, enjoy the game.
